Default Back Yard Music (Computer ?)

Hoping for some advice.

I have a stereo in my back yard, I'ts insulated, vented & protected from the elements so it's out there year round, Pool in the summer, Hockey/skating rink in the winter.

My question:

Where can I get a "recommended" device that I can connect to my PC and then broadcast what is playing on my PC via FM so that I can enjoy all my mp3's in the back yard?

I tried searching the local Calgary electronic stores sites to no avail.

does such a device exist? or am I asking too much?

Why not use some "piece of crap" computer back there? Like a Pentium II running Windows 2000. Then keep your MP3s on a USB drive.

Is this not what the airport express from apple is for?

Not sure, just a suggestion to look into.

Another possibility is Squeezebox

It used to be Slim Devices until Logitech bought them up a few years ago.

what about this thing?

http://www.nextag.com/ZOOM-TELEPHONI...68/prices-html

Then if you have an iPhone you download remote and can control your itunes library over your wifi network. Looks like that thing would plug into computers or laptops headphone jack if you computer/laptop doesnt have bluetooth

I think Soundsaround sells this but I think it is pretty expensive.

You thoughtless brute. Playing music in your back yard? What's next? A fire pit?

Thanks for the advice everyone, I'll check those links and if I find something that works I'll report back.

BTW I've got a 3 foot flame going in my fire pit and my neighbour is making a beer run.

For those prices I'd just buy a cheap iPod Nano or something and hook that up, then you can control it from outside too.

Or a Sonos, they're amazing but really $$
