Anddd Boom goes the (N.Korean) nuclear dynamite
N Korea 'conducts nuclear test'
North Korea appears to have conducted a nuclear test, South Korea's Yonhap news agency has said citing sources in the South Korean government.
The agency said that South Korea's president had convened an emergency security meeting of his cabinet on Monday morning to discuss the test.
The US Geological Survey said it had detected a magnitude 4.7 tremor in North Korea at 0954 local time on Monday, which could indicate a nuclear test has taken place.

Oh frack. That isn't very good at all.
So what does this do to the international landscape? We know that they can hit Japan. What else could they hit?

I highly doubt one or two nuclear bombs would start a cold war. But if that's not the case... I think we should blow them to pieces because you never know what those crazy North Koreans are going to do!

Here's what will really happen.
NK tests nuclear Missile, saying 'We're not farking around'
USA goes 'please stop'
NK says 'what are you going to give me?'
USA .. 'erm... rice and stuff?'
NK . "hmm... we can agree to that."
Then when they're off the phone... NK giggles all the way home. "See, it works every time."

There is nothing about this on CNN yet. Wouldn't something like this be all over that?

USGS reported it as an earthquake before knowledge of the test.
Earthquake shakes North Korea
Posted: 10:04 PM ET
(CNN) — A 4.7-magnitude earthquake hit northern North Korea on Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
The quake occurred at 9:54 a.m. (8:54 p.m. ET Sunday) about 75 km (45 miles) northwest Kimchaek and 375 km (230 miles) northeast of the capital of Pyongyang, the agency said. The depth of the temblor was 10 km (6.2 miles).
The USGS put the epicenter of the earthquake within a few miles of the site where North Korea conducted a nuclear test in October 2006.
No other details on Monday’s quake where immediately available.
This is going to get really interesting.

I suspect now that Reuters is running it, they'll just rehash that, put the CNN name to it, and be done. I bet within the next 10 minutes it's up. I thought they had something about the quake there too.. but that's gone.

If you go to the "world" page, it's there. Oddly enough, the US Home page doesn't have it.

I just clicked and read the link and North Korea has now confirmed that they tested a nuclear device today. It also goes on to say that due to the response from other countries, N. Korea is going to pull out of the nuclear weapons disarmment program or whatever it's called.

I love the logic. It's like the Somali pirates.
"I'm going to board your boat, take you hostage at gun point, make your company fork over millions and then leave."
And then they get all pissed off when a few get picked off, vowing revenge and death to America like they were victimized by a big bully.
