I like some anime: Spirited away, Akira, princess mononoke, ninja scrolls to name a few. It has to be real special to draw my interest or be gory as eff like ninja scrolls.
I am a 33 year old father of (soon to be) 2, and I go to UofC. There are many things I don't understand about what young people do there. The main one, is how they sit there for 6 hours and watch anime on there laptops every day in the comp sci lab.
I frequently mock them especially when they have spent so much time watching these shows that they can't manage to draw a house on the screen for their python first year comp sci course and have to copy each other and end up on academic probation because of the "whore" prof ( Thanks Flip! ).
I also enjoy rubbing their noses in it when they fail the intro course for their major because they play WoW all day, but thats another conversation all together.
So to answer your question, anime has given me many hours of enjoyment, but not from watching it.
