Default CPHL Future Watch: #15 New Jersey Devils

#15 - New Jersey Devils

General Manager: Steve R

GM Steve has been patient with his teams, but he made a push this year and almost made it, getting eliminated in the last game of the season. His veteran help cost of prospect Brandon Sutter but he was able to obtain more assets when he shipped of those vets after getting eliminated. Heres a look at who was in the system at that time.

Top 10 Prospects

1. Brandon Sutter - From the Sutter family, comes another hard-nosed player, can crate offense, future top 6 forward.
2. Trevor Lewis - Skilled playmaker with size, also has a good shot. Not far away, top 5 forward potential.
3. Christopher Didomenico - Played a simple but effective game at the WJHC, could be a 2nd or a 3rd liner.
4. Eric Tangardi - A physical specimen, will be a rugged point producing power forward.
5. Michael Stone - Smart defenseman, whose offensive game really took off this year, still couple years away.
6. Johnny Boychuk - Point producing defenseman, whose taken time to develop, a good third pairing dman.
7. Niko Hoivunen - A lanky goalie at 6'7, taking his time in Finland, has the potential to be a starter down the road.
8. Andrei Plekhanov - A decent defenseman, plays a simple game, good third paring option down the road.
9. Alex Bourret - Once a can't miss, Bourret has been a bust so far, also struggled in the minors, so far a bust.
10. Dmitri Patzold - Has returned home to fix his game, if he returns, could be a decent backup tender.

The Future
Some of these prospects have been moved and more have been brought in, GM Steve did a good job of flipping soon to be UFAs for some decent prospects. The prospect pool will only get better as the Devils have the 2nd overall pick and another top 14 pick.

Yeah, the Devils were definitely able to move some prospects for UFA's because they will likely be adding Hedman this year.
