Default Inline Skating Wheels

Besides Sportcheck, does anyone know where I can purchase a good set of inline skating wheel replacements in Calgary? I have bought the ones from sportcheck but poor quality wheels that don't last long. I have tried a few locations such as source for sports and don't sell them.

Thanks

Maybe the wheels you are buying are too soft. Softer wheels will wear out much quicker.

The higher the number, the harder the wheel (eg. 82A)
The lower the number, the softer the wheel (eg. 76A)

Harden up!

I bought an expensive pair of wheels a few years ago but I can't remember the number. They lasted me forever and didn't "cone". I didn't have to rotate the wheels very often. I've since bought new skates which came with cheap wheels, and I have to rotate them quite often as they wear out quickly.

If I remember correctly, harder wheels are good for outdoor use, and softer wheels are good for indoor use, depending on the surface.

I haven't been in the market for wheels lately, does anybody know what brands are best?

I seem to remember as a kid wanting better bearings all the time. ABEC-1 were the best, no?

The wheels I have on my rollerblades have already worn out to the point where I need to rotate them and I've put maybe 30km of outdoor use on them. That sucks.

I think I'll look at stiffer rubber and smooth bearings to "enhance my experience".

No, ABEC 1 is the lowest. It goes up by two from there. ABEC 3,5,7, etc. The higher the number the faster the bearing.

In reality though if you keep them clean and lubed you wont notice a difference based on the speeds you get up to on city pathways.

I was just out for a 10k blade today
I get my replacement wheels from : http://www.skates.com/Rollerblade-wheels-s/39.htm Have a bit of a running injury so this keeps me interested for now....

I like you couldn't really find what I was looking for so took my search to the web and I will continue to deal with skates. They have the really hard wheels that don't wear down very fast.

Everyone's given the perfect advice for inline wheels. It's been years since I bought them (one summer used 4 or 5 sets), but bought a bunch from wholesalers on e-bay at the time. Check e-bay and get harder ones 78's or 82's. You're really not going to fall even if you play indoor (as long as you're good enough). EBay's the place though.
