Default Help with a virus

Hey everyone...somehow I've managed to get WinPC Antivirus on my laptop and have no idea how it got there or how to remove it. I'm wary of all the sites google comes up with when I research how to get rid of it. I have Norton Internet Security so I contacted them, but they want to charge me $99 USD to get rid of it for me. Does anyone have any idea how to get rid of it?

ahh yes. Don't worry about Norton. I'm glad you didn't spend the $99 ... it's not worth the money, in my opinion. Actually, I usually recommend a complete uninstall of Norton and installation of a good free antiviral application (such as avast!) in it's place.

To rid yourself of WinPC Antivirus, just follow the instructions in this article. It is well-written and the site is reputable. The top half of the page is just explanation and advertising, so if you want to get straight to the point, scroll down to the blue heading, "Automated Removal Instructions for WinPC Antivirus using Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware:" and get started. Any questions, feel free to ask.

Thanks, OBCT...I managed to get rid of it by using a Malwares download I found on the same site. Took me 3+ hours last night to get rid of it, but it's gone now. Definitely wondering why I bothered to buy Norton's Internet Security for my system. Thanks for your help and advice!
