CP Photo Contest 18 - LIFE -
Theme for CP Photo Contest 18 is "Life"
That could be "the joy of life" or "life in your city, (which could be quite sad actually)" or "plant/animal life," etc, etc, . . . . . show us life.
Round one voting is open until 10:00 pm on June 1, two weeks from today, then finalists will be presented for a final vote.
---------------
Rules:
All photos must be no larger than 800x600 (or something close)
Please post only 1 photo per post (make a new post for new pics)
Post as many photos as you like, just keep it on topic
Vote by clicking the "Thanks" button at the bottom of the post
You may vote for 3 finalists.
Once the challenge leader (winner from previous challenge) chooses when to end the voting, he/she will change the thread title to explain when voting ends.
Once voting for the finalists is over, the challenge leader will tally up the votes and post (in 3 separate posts) the finalists.
Challenge leader again changes thread title to say when voting ends. Then, everyone comes back and votes on those 3 finalists.
You are only allowed 1 vote in the finals, so choose wisely
Winner of the challenge will start a new challenge thread and copy/paste these rules in the original post for consistency.
Don't be too specific with the theme nor too general. Try and get a theme that people can contribute to. Don't pick the red african ant of Kenya as a theme... nobody will post. Likewise, don't make the theme "stuff on earth"
Have fun.

Probably a hard life . . . . a deformed begger on a skateboard in Rome, propelled by a tennis shoe in one hand.

The amount of people with extreme deformities begging on the streets of Shanghai was pretty high last year before the Olympics. Then they cleared all of them out so that foreigners wouldn't see them...

A slice of a hard life . . . . . very crusty Maasai children outside their boma in Tanzania. Although literacy in Tanzania is now around 80%, the Maasai elder with us said these particular children were unlikely to see the inside of a school. There was a recent research report indicating western generosity in throwing cast-off clothing at Africans may be stunting economic development as no modern industrial society has ever been built without a textile foundation.

Sunset over the Longview Rodeo, a slice of the life of small town Alberta
I'd like to think someone has a picture of an amoeba for this competition.
