Odd food combinations that ROCK!
So I'm at home and want something sweet after that stinker of a game and all I have is vanilla ice cream. I don't usually have sweets in my house as I don't eat them often, and I pretty much only use the vanilla ice cream to add in fresh fruit milkshakes I make sometimes to get my fruit in me.
I could go for a bowl of ice cream, I'm thinking. But just plain vanilla? There's got to be something I can put on it. Chocolate? No none of that. Caramel? Nope. I don't even have any fruit left as I used the rest of it in the last shake I made.
And then I spot it. Sweet Soy Sauce.
For those who don't know what that is, it's very different than regular soy sauce. It's thick and syrupy and sweet. Still has a bit of that salty flavor, but not as much as regular soy sauce. It often used in stir frys and other asian themed dishes, and I love to cook with it.
The combination sounds gross, but I start thinking... There's soy milk, heck even soy ice cream. Let's give it a go!
So I pour some of the stuff on and it's FANTASTIC!
So it made me think, we have all tried different dishes that others say EWWWWWW to, but we enjoy. Let's hear yours!
A second one I have is the PB&J hotdog they have at Tubby Dog. With the Capt'n Crunch added. I know it's sounds gross, but it's a sweet and salty mixture of heaven for me!

I love getting a sundae (a local family restaurant chain makes a mean hot peanut butter/fudge sundae), and then getting french fries (with ketchup!) on the side. It's a fantastic salty/sweet combination, and it sounds disgusting.

The fries I can totally see, the ketchup a little to much for me, lol. But that's a good one!

I grew up in Pittsburgh, the home of Heinz ketchup. They start putting that on your baby food when you're an infant, I think. Don't even THINK of using another ketchup in this town, it's tantamount to mocking the Steelers.

Scrambled eggs, mustard, and parmesan cheese. Sounds digusting and doesn't smell great but it's delicious.

Kraft dinner and curry powder!
Homemade curried mac and cheese from scratch with my own garam masala is beyond amazing, but KD with a little medium curry powder does in a pinch!
You get that cheesiness we all love, but then it finishes with a little heat from the curry! Soooo gooood!

I'm a firm believer that parmesan cheese can make just about anything better.

There's a place in Pittsburgh that makes Lasagna pizza. Regular cheese pizza, add mushrooms, pepperoni, and ricotta cheese. So damn good.
