Bermuda Shorts Day 2009 - April 17th
Hopefully not a fata.
Who's going?
It moved this year, although I didn't go last year, and is located in Lot 32 which is right off Crowchild and just NE of that Mormon church by McMahon.
No guests this year. Hasn't always been that way I don't think. Beer Gardens open 12-5pm.
2 stages, with The Wet Secrets and The Dudes playing the mainstage.
http://www.su.ucalgary.ca/artscultur...horts-day.html
I'll be the really drunk guy wearing Hawaiian shorts, make sure you say hello.

BSD is one reason I wished I went to school when I:
a) Was single
b) Drank
c) Was not over 30
I will hand in my last assignment at 11 am and go home. People who insist on spending hours on end discussing Japanese cartoons and WoW piss me off when I am trying to study. It gets much, much worse when these same people are drunk.

Wow, it might not suck this year.
My first 2 years at Uni BSD was an amazing time, but then it managed to find new heights on the suckometer for years after that.
Sounds like fun. I wont be there for obvious reasons, but it should be a blast.

Sweet, I love the Wet Secrets! I'll be there drinking my face off for sure. Hopefully the weather will be decent that day, last year sucked ass when it was inside.
I know it says only U of C students can get wristbands, but does anyone know if alumni can too? I'm still a student, but I have a friend who's alumni (has an alumni ID as well) and he's interested in going, mostly to see the Wet Secrets.

Huzzah! I'm jacked for this. When I found out the Wet Secrets were playing I was even more jacked. Then I let my friends listen to them and they made me slightly less jacked. Regardless, my jackedness is still of the friggin' charts.
I'll most likely be the obnoxiously drunk 18 year old rez bum in bright pink Hurley shorts! If you talk to me nice enough (and I'm at a proper state of intoxication) you just might get a beer from me if you say you're from CP!
It is kinda gay that we're gonna have to walk so damn far from rez to get to the beer gardens but what can you do I suppose...too bad they had to move it. In front of Mac Hall and Kines seemed to be a pretty primo locale if you ask me. (it was there right? I vaguely remember being on campus a few years ago when it was happening.)
Also, is anybody planning on going to any of the afterparties? Sounds like the Whiskey is gonna be a good time, and with Ski Club tickets are only five bucks with a free drink and bus ride there! Sweet!

Alright kid. You've forced me to do this, I will give you some serious heart to heart advice.
One: It sounds like you might be looking forward to this, one might even say that you're 'jacked.' Dont get your hopes up. The U of C will find a way to destroy your joy and you can take that to the bank.
Secondly, I've found that the after parties at clubs suck Donkey sack. Find/organize a party with your own friends somewhere that you like.
And lastly (word? It is now) Beerios may be a great way to start the day but they are not part of a complete and nutritious breakfast. Pace yourself man and enjoy your day of alcohol addled anarchy. (<----Thats an alliteration BTW)

You're doing what? Going to your...lectures? Drunk? Will you attend drunk? Are your profs actually 'teaching' that day? Because if they are that is a dick move.

Ahh, BSD. Feels like just yesterday I was there on the Den patio and the beer gardens boozing it up (and with the exchange student girls no less!)..........
However, I'll be the responsible adult now - you young fellers make sure to do three things - don't drink and drive, use a condom, and don't pee on my lawn.

Yeah I too have found out the hard way that the university down for about as much fun as I am for contracting gonorrhea.
Secondly, I too was considering this. But unless we can come party at your place, we are all on campus pretty much...unless I can convince my buddy who lives in church housing. Which probably won't work.
Third, Beerios are great, but Fruit Loops and beer are not. However, pina colada coolers (they were someone else's alright?) with Fruit Loops was outstanding. I've got some friends that are planning on Denning it the night before and I said nay. I'll wake up, have some coffee and Baileys and get my morning started off right. No sense in being blackout drunk for the entire thing.
Good work with the sneaky text. You could be a better poet than an accountant methinks.

Sorry about the double post, but I feel the need to comment on this. I've got a friend who has a lab or lecture or something gay like that on BSD. The prof is such a f king SOB that he said if you didn't show up, you were going down a letter grade in the course. How weaksauce is that?

Just make sure he rates the prof all zeros/strongly disagree when he does USRI's.
I fully plan on bringing my bottle of Scotch and a glass to each of my classes on BSD and drinking during the lecture. Anyone who doesn't like it can try and fight me. I'll be drunk enough by 10am I'll be in a fightin' mood.

Due to my exam schedule, BSD will be a quiet day for me. All 3 of my 'important' final exams are scheduled on the 20 thru 22.The lone "I don't give a rats ass" exam is, of course, the week after.

Last day of Classes... ahh the best day of the year. We had our own version of BSD at UBC this year. Was killer.
Last Day of classes + a free beer garden for a concert with The Roots and Tokyo Police Club is an epic win. I just wish I could remember more of it!!!
I hear BSD is usually a great time too. Hopefully the people from the board enjoy it!!

It's too bad they got rid of my degree program, I spent 5 years treating every day as a potential BSD. I highly recommend it.

I work extremely close to BSD this year.
I'm one of those people that takes the issue of public bathroom cleanliness incredibly serious. I can only use my work washroom because I know for a fact that very few people actually use it. If I find a drunk BSD'er in there throwing up/pissing on the seat I may have to just murder him.

The best part of BSD is the couch races. I wonder if there are going to be any this year? They've been sorely lacking the last 5 years and I am not thinking it'll be better this year.

If you don't have fun on BSD, you're doing it wrong. Or not dropping enough shrooms.
