Default What do the red squares mean to you?

I've been a member on this site since 2006 and while I enjoy reading most of the posts, I only reply to, or start a new thread when I have something worthwhile (in my opinion of course) to contribute.

I'm not knocking anyone, but I've noticed that alot of people post one word or very minimal replies.

Do the members do this to get your post count up so that you can gain experiance, thus gaining more red squares?

Is the quantity more important than the quality?

Yes.

Just kidding. I use to spend waaaay too much time playing the CPHL and that's where I got all my red squares. Most of my posts come in the OT forum now. Not much point posting in the regular forum these days with 1000 "The Flames Suck" threads.

I miss my blue square. I did just get my 6th red square though and that made me feel warm and fuzzy.

I knew as soon as I hit the submit button that there would only be one word replies to this thread

That's about 85 words - too long to read.

I must say that although I try to consider quality, one of the first things I look at are whether or not I recognize a poster before I read their post. If they have few posts and a new join date I am far more likely to ignore. Don't get me wrong there are a lot of people whom I don't read their posts and they have tons of posts/early join date.

Red squares matter when there is a link posted. That's about it.

I was seriously thinking about about writing a whole message word by word...I thought twice because of the fear of being chastised. Is it too much to ask for just one red square!?
