Well...that sucks. At least we made a run at it, I had pretty much accepted no playoffs about a month ago. So getting as close as we did was nice. Good luck to all the playoff teams.

Well that loss really hurts us. Chris Osgood really needed a rest and he had to come in as Lalime was injured in the first period. The only saving grace is that the Avs also lose tonight and we hold onto to 8th still.

We close out the season tomorrow against the Hawks (who should really rest some players!).

Not sure how we got a win with the lineup we played with tonight but Cam Ward was sensational. 35 saves and a shut out vs his old mates.

You're Welcome Doug

Great way to end the season. Gomez and Samsanov are both hot tonight, potting 1G, 2A each. Beauchemin and Afinogenov each chip in with a couple of points as well. Now the only thing left to do is rest up and get healthy and wait to find out if the Ducks can take away home ice from us in the 1st round.

I shouldn't have reminded you to send in your lines, you had Conklin in net.

Well, well well. That is a bad loss. Hannu Toivunen stops 29 of 30 shots and we lose 2-1. We control our own destiny if we can win on the final day of the season against the Jackets. But I think the SIM has picked us for the EPIC collapse this year. I still have hope for tommorrow if the Preds can lose. But I won't be banking on it.

Crap, I was so worked up over the trade deadline I forgot we still had a game to play. My apologies for not sending in lines.

Team played great in their last regular season game though. Outshot the Avs 41-22 and won the game 7-1. Briere picked up a goal and an assist in his last game to give him a 2 point lead over Henrik Sedin for most points in the league. With one game remaining for LA, Sedin will have to have a big game to top Briere.

What a story we have here. The Kings play the Stars in their last game which should translate into a win. That would force the Oilers and Preds to have to win their last game to stay in the playoffs. The Preds play the Hawks which will be a tough one. The Oilers, funnily enough, play the team that GM Syl started the year off with, the Jackets.

Will the SIM gods be kind to Syl and give him a win to remain in the playoffs? Or will they punish him for giving up on his former team so early in the season? Can't wait to find out!

Thrashers beat the Flyers 4-3 and finish the season with 104 pts and the second seed in the East.

We will be playing either the Lightning or Hurricanes in round 1.

PS......nice to see Hecht pick up 2 goals and be named the 1st star in his 1st game.

Wild dressed a different line-up to be sure and Scotty Clemmenson, who will be our back-up next year, picks up the tie.

TJ Hensick makes his CPHL debut and gets injured. Wimp.

Syl and n00b, a tag team of epic failure.

Come on SIM, the real Oilers already choked, that should more than fill Edmonton's choke quota for the year.

Well I can see us making the run to finish the season off and just falling short. We are already out but it seems that the team does not know that.
Good game last night to score twice in the third to take it.

The Preds are most likely on the outside looking in after this though. Our goalies are at 97 and 95CD after our loss and our line mixing has not given us a spark to win in a shootout it seems. I am basically counting on the Kings to lose, but after we softened up the Stars for them this could be a horrible end to our season!

Leafs and Wild tie 3-3.

Well this was our last game of the season and we were playing one of the best teams in the league, followed by a handful of days off, so we went with a strong lineup for the first time in a little while. Lundqvist started after sitting out a few games. He was pretty good and Jokinen scored a hat trick. Last year he carried the Wings in the playoffs so hopefully this hat trick means he's getting hot again. Leafs didn't make any moves at the deadline, and didn't really chase many moves over the last few weeks either. We picked up Sullivan a few weeks ago and assuming everyone stays healthy, we felt we were good enough after that trade to make a playoff run. Plus we've had great chemistry all season so we didn't want to screw with that. And giving up something of value with just a game or 2 left didn't make any sense.

So, after our last game obviously this season was a huge turn-around year for us. We missed the playoffs 3 seasons in a row, and last year was especially disappointing after a complete collapse knocked us out of the playoffs. This year we've been good from start to finish, so hopefully that keeps up. Looks like we'll be matched up with the Canes or Lightning in the 1st round (depending on what the tie-breaker is if the Canes win their last game).
