Default Another restaurant request.

Looking for recomendations for a lunch date on Good Friday.

A few girlfriends and I are going out for brunch/lunch on Good Friday at around noon. So I need something that is fairly central or North. I'm hoping for a menu that would include both breakfasty-ish(new word, just made it up) and lunchy so everyones tastes are covered. (example: last time we did Moxie's in Market mall and it was OK.)

Thanks in advance for any ideas!

Hmmm. How about Moxie's in Market Mall? I believe that fits the criteria you put forth.

The Siding Cafe (in Art Central) is always a place I have enjoyed breakfast. Good quality, somewhat home-style food with a little flair. I have not had lunch there, but I imagine it's equally good.

Here's the website: http://artcentral.ca/tenants/39-the-siding-cafe

I don't think the OP specified a Catholic friendly restaurant.

Like I said, it was just OK... any other ideas?

(edit: DARN IT!!!! I did it again! I posted before checking whose account was on...)

It doesn't have to be meatless friendly... I don't think any of us are religious... at least not to that extent.

What is Cora's?

There's a couple of locations in Calgary. You can find them at http://chezcora.com

Dairy Lane looked kinda good, but then I looked up the health inspections and they had NUMEROUS violations in June (anytime I see "Evidence of Vermin onsite" I puke a little in my mouth...)

Cora's doesn't look too bad, maybe not enough burger choices for some girls, but screw them... it's my turn to decide!

Anything else?

Central Blends is a good little spot just down the road from Dairy Lane. Also, I don't know if it is still available but I purchased a book titled "My Favorite Cheap Eats". It was written by the food critic from the Herald. John Gilchrist I believe. It is divided up by location and cuisine. Every place I have tried has been excellent. There is a Persian place down on 9th ave SW and 10 street. Can't remember the name but have wanted to try it for some time.

i bought the book at chapters.

Big thumbs up for Cora's. The one on 130th (northland Village Mall and Okotoks as well) is awesome. Tons of fruit. Very brunchy stuff. Very busy too. get there early

Cora's is a very popular place. I remember talk of a line around the building on Mothers day. Never been personally, but I think my wife has been.

I find Cora's to be expensive (at least out here in Ottawa)... but if cost is not a concern for you, by all means, pretty good quality I'd say.
