ALL ABOARD!

I have this one for my Macs and it works great. It's set up in the basement and the 1st and 2nd floors get great reception.
Dissentowner's is better though.
Mine's cheaper.

That reminds of of the 15 dollar routers they were selling one day at memex with a $20 mail in rebate.

Your Macbook is new so it should have N capatibility, just thought of that. Make sure your Airport Wireless card is good for N, if not you will need to upgrade it. A whopping $1.50 or something like that on Apples website.

surprise no one has suggested the Airport Extreme or Time Capsule from apple... These are both great for doing backups, takes a backup every hr for a day, every day for a week, and every week until the backup HD is full... so you can spin back in time whenever you want.
I'd personally just going with the Airport Extreme, and get a 1tb external drive to setup for time capsule... Then you'll never have to worry about backing up your comp again.. trust me, have your comp crash without a backup blows.

Those time capsules are crazy expensive though for something that can be done with any external drive. I suppose I don't have a laptop though, so I just keep a 1tb drive (that cost me $130) plugged into the back.

Great info guys,
I am new to a mac and don't know why I did not switch sooner!
Anyways, how well do the routers work if I were to upgrade to a faster ineternet and use say, azureus, or other "video" processes over the net?
Is there a lot of lag? Do I need to go to the airport extreme, or is that too "extreme" for basic computer usage?

Any of the routers recommended above should handle whatever you throw at it, no problem. Of course the faster your net, the faster your wireless. Lag should be a non issue unless your operating from way far away or through multiple walls of radioactive concrete.

Only an Apple router has the capacity to transfer the amount of pretension that your laptop generates over the internets.

GOAT!

Airport Extreme. Get one of the newly released ones though. Make sure. Don't trust a guy at Future Shop with that knowledge, all he wants to do is ring that thing in so he can move on to someone else.
Do the research and get the right product number from Apple's website. Better yet, go to the Apple Store in Market Mall and make sure you tell them you want one of the new ones that just came out.
Then you can plug an external drive into the back of it and back your sh** up.

Agreed. The one thing I dislike as much as Apple fan boys, is the "anti-apple" fanboys who immediatley dismiss their products, even if they are good...not that all are.

Gee, I use Apple products too.
Come on, it's computer humor.
Okay, I see your point.
