Hope to see some of you this weekend!
We're heading to the airport in 6 hours and will be in Calgary before midnight tonight.
Hard to believe that this trip is finally happening!!!
We'll be at the games Friday and Monday....228, row 15 for both games. Of course, wearing QC jerseys, we won't be hard to spot!
Hope we get a chance to meet some of you guys while we're there.....

I'm going to be making the 8 hour trip down to go to the game tomorrow night too. I'll be in one of the boxes though, and not sure how they are laid out, so not sure how much of the seats I can see from them, but I'll look for you. Might have to yell out "the sky is blue" and see if anyone answers!
(probably won't though, but if anyone else does I'll answer )

If you happen to be at the dome a little early for each game, at the top of the stairs, behind where your seats are located is "the olympic lounge" (even though it says lounge, all ages are permitted) I know that Ill be there enjoying a few beers if you feel like saying hi
There are a couple other posters that frequent the olympic lounge from time to time as well, though I cant say whether they will be there or not
Also from where your seats are, you may or may not be able to hear my cowbell during play...
enjoy your trip
and remember, the sky is blue.....

Cowbell? Can I bring a cowbell??!!!!
We're probably going to eat at the Dome before Friday's game so that we can have as long as possible at the Royal Tyrell Museum. Maybe we'll stop in as we're wandering around!

Question....
Do the guys practice every day? Game days? When and where??
I've got stuff to get signed for a bunch of people and that might be the easiest way for us to make contact....

Game days the home team practises at 10:30, the away team at 11:30. You can wait outside the players entrance for them on their way out.

I'll try and make it, it depends on whether I'm still fighting this godforsaken illness.

I hope you enjoy your trip!
I was out for the BOA and the Columbus game at the end of February and had an absolute blast. Calgary is really an amazing city; certainly lots of things to see. Be careful though, you'll never want to leave; when you do, you'll want to go back for every game!

Sparky, if you are out on the roads this afternoon/tonight be careful. There was a Winter Storm Warning issued.
Warnings
City of Calgary
4:29 AM MDT Saturday 21 March 2009
Winter storm warning for
City of Calgary issued
Heavy snow and blowing snow expected tonight and Sunday.
This is a warning that dangerous winter weather conditions are imminent or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions...Listen for updated statements.
An intense pacific low pressure system will develop in southern Alberta and Montana today. This system will at first produce rain in the afternoon. However the low pressure system will start bringing in colder air and precipitation will turn to snow by this evening. Heavy snowfall is expected with 10 to 20 cm in some localities. In addition strong northeasterly winds will develop producing blowing snow conditions reducing visibility.
This winter storm can produce poor travelling conditions. Persons in or near these areas should be on the lookout for adverse weather conditions and listen for updated warnings.
That's about 4 - 8 inches of snow.

Thanks, KevanGuy! We were out on the roads....went to Banff today, wandered around there a bit, then headed up to Lake Louise and to (some of) the icefields.
Very cool....but the kid wasn't feeling well, and by mid-afternoon was running a temp. So we turned around and came back to Calgary, checked into the hotel downtown, and have just been kinda goofing around and relaxing. We probably all needed that!!!
At the game last night, we got tickets for the Hitman game tomorrow, so I want him well for that and for what's upcoming Monday and Tuesday. Lots still to come, but we're having an absolute blast!!
The QC Flames are covering us with a blog.... www.qcflames.com, then Sally in Calgary!
Chris was wondering whether you guys ever have any kind of boarder meetings at the games during intermissions. (We do that on a regular basis, but have a smaller arena!!) He'd like to meet some of Calgary's best hockey fans!!

Think I must have seen you guys at the Dome today for the Hitmen victory.
A Krahn and McElhinney jersey?
Thought it had to be your group.

Yep....I was wearing Krahn and the kid's dad was wearing McE. Great game!!
Sorry that we missed Pete's....we actually talked about going this morning. I remembered at about 10 pm while we were trying to re-pack. We've all gotten so much stuff that we each bought an additional piece of luggage to check! Makes getting stuff home much, much easier!!!
We were probably distracted a bit, since we went down to the pub in the hotel to order dinner and ran into Paul MacLean, an assistant coach for Detroit who was our head coach in Quad Cities for two years. Great to chat with him for a while....I don't know which of us was more suprised! Never dawned on me that the Wings would be staying in our hotel.
He knew all about what's going on with hockey in the QC. Pretty cool!!
