Peter's Drive in ripped me off!
So I had a meeting in the NW yesterday, stopped in at Peter's to get lunch while enroute, plus I can get rid of the $50 in my wallet.
Except they gave me three fives plus some change as change!
I didn't pull the change out of my pocket until this morning
Most expensive burger I've ever had, and that's including a crazy expensive burger I had in Vegas one time.
I've had the wrong change and lost/gained a few bucks before, but not like $30. I'm sure it was an honest mistake, but still.
Anyone else had incorrect change and lost more than that?

Damn. You should try calling them and asking if their till was way over. They just might be honest about it. I've given back money when the dum dum cashier gave me too much change - mostly because I used to work in a gas station and I know the feeling of a till not balancing at the end of the night.

I was at a night club once and bought a couple drinks with a twenty and the bartender gave me back two twenties and some change. So I said "Hey, you gave me the wrong change." To which she replied, "Piss off." So I did.

Lol nice!
Yeah I've returned an extra $20 once.
As for calling them, it would probably cost $30 in gas and time to go get it heh.

Call them, and they will likely give you a credit on your next visit.
I had take-out last week, and they forgot to include something. I called them, and they gave me a credit for the next visit - I just have to provide my name and phone # to claim it.

Love the tags! lol
I wonder if there has ever been a defamation case based on tags on a thread on a message board?

That's what I would do. It's definitely worth a call as the worst that can happen is a simple "sorry".
I've been credited on quite a few occasions when there's been a screwup.
edit: You bad bad person with the tags. LOL. I know you're pissed but come on.....

yea, I went through a wendy's drivethrough once, handed the girl a fifty, stuffed the change in my center console, and drove away. When I went to pull the money out after getting home, found out she had given me about ninety three dollars. Since it was only a couple blocks away, I went back, and talked to the manager, gave them back the extra money, and she handed me a book of gift certificates for my trouble. Turns out the gift certificates were worth a hundred dollars. Came out pretty good in that exchange.

Nice to see that sometimes honesty does pay. Good story.

Next you'll be trying to tell me that they will give you a receipt with your meal.

It's happened four or five times to me over the years, and I've found that every time I've been in a situation like that if you are honest they usually end up being more than generous with you for being honest. Sad thing is they do it probably because they don't expect it, as unfortunately most of the people I know would just keep the money instead of saying anything.
p.s., to the OP, sorry, didn't mean to hijack.

There are actually people who will lie about not getting change back too. Happened to me a couple times when I worked at an A&W. I'm in Jr. High at the time, and people will not only lie about it, but yell at you to try and scare you into giving them ANOTHER $40. It actually happened 2 or 3 times while I had a job there, but it only worked the first time. It would be nice if the employees at these places could actually trust people when things like this happen, because it sucks to count a till because you thought someone's 50 was a 20, but there are plenty of idiots out there trying to make $40 for buying a burger.

I think the tellers at Mac's purposely try and screw you shortchanging you at every opportunity. nothing big all under a buck, but I bet that adds up over the day and they pocket the difference on the till. at least at the NE Mac's locations I have witnessed this quite a few times.

The tags are for the lulz, not serious, for any Peter's lawyers reading this.
Hm.. I might call them then.

Bah if I'm at a club and I get more money back than I was supposed to, I'm taking that and running. They screw people so bad on drinks it's ridiculous.

Yeah, but I used to work in a club and being out at the end of a shift cut into your tips not the clubs bottom line. So I kind of have a soft spot for that.
