Trying to find a beer-league Slo-pitch team for summer 2009

Ok, this is so much harder than I thought it would be, so maybe someone out there could help me. I am a 23 year old girl looking to join a Slo-Pitch team for the summer here in Calgary. Two of my girlfriends are also interested. Two of us have never played on a team before, and I know I'm not very good at it. We just want to play once or twice a week on a team with low or no competitiveness who are really just there to have a good time and drink beer. If anyone has any suggestions, PLEASE post them, I can't stand another dull summer.

Join up with a team there. I played on a CSSC team last year as a sub and had a lot of fun. There's not beer on the field but everyone went out afterwards.

No one was trying to field fly balls with a water bottle full of beer, but a few people had cans on the sidelines. I suppose each of Central and SW's leagues had rules about beer on the field too. As long as you were cool about it and didn't keep it out in the open, no one complained and everything was copacetic.

Probably. The CSSC team also won a few games. That was a Central thing too

CSSC is great for this kind of thing, you guys can just sign up as a small group and be placed on an individuals team.

The CSSC recommends no beer on the field, because it is illegal to drink beer on the City fields, but most teams do it anyways and just cleans up their own mess.

I used to take a beer with me in my glove to the outfield. For the most part everyone is cool.

I think it was 4x4. It definitely could have been me though. If you can't smoke a cigar while playing slo-pitch then what's the point?

I think we might need spares on the SW team, sundays at Optimist. Its being discussed right now. Spares do eventually become full time members!
