Formula for the Most Depressing Day of the Year...

Jan. 24 is the worst day of the year, with bad weather, debt, fading Christmas memories, failed resolutions and a lack of motivation combining to depress people.

This is the contention of Cliff Arnalls, a part-time university tutor in Wales.

According to Dr. Arnalls' equation, misery peaks next Monday, Jan. 24, a month after Christmas.

And the magic formula is:
1/8W+(D-d) 3/8xTQ MxNA.

Where: W: Weather D: Debt d: Money due in January pay T: Time since Christmas Q: Time since failed quit attempt M: General motivational levels NA: The need to take action



Throw in a variable for the date of NHL cancellation and I'm set.... Interesting to see a "quit attempt" variable for the smokers out there.

Wholly crap. Youngans. I remember that test, thinking it was so important. The high school course that most resembles engineering school, but way easier. Now I'm an old codger who thought I would never sound like one. [/b][/quote]
If memory serves correctly I bombed that diploma exam with a 19%, using my TI-83 to generate the multiple choice answers in random (since I never went to that class at all)...which is why I'm a communications major now
