Anyone know if there is a new Lost on tonight, or is there a re-run? I didn't see previews last Wednesday, so I'm not sure whether or not I should attempt to make time tonight. I'm supposed to teach a Poli 500 class how to play Diplomacy... but if Lost is on... maybe I'll be sick

It was a pretty bad episode. I think the phony looking polar bear ruined it for me.

I think the producers blew their budget on the 2 hour pilot.
That polar bear really was terrible. As far as the show goes, I find the last few episodes to be really sluggish. Not much story aside from all their petty squables. Next week is a re-run based on the preview they showed. After that I would expect things to really pick up as they gear up for sweeps week (is it in February or March?)

The show is still holding my interest but I am finding myself hoping that something more will be revealled and if it is not by the end of the season I may not have as much of an interest in it. The last couple of episodes have been slow and not developed the story along all that much in my opinion. It is good to get the bakground info on the characters but finding out more about the island would be cool as well.

Do you think that the reason it looked so phony was because it had something to do with that comic book?
I have no clue if it was, but it definitly had something to do with the bear appearing.

The comic book made me wonder if the island is inhabited by aliens. They showed that one page of the comic with the alien on it then he flipped to the bear and i kind of went..."hey!"

Hi all.
Its been quite some time since I last posted, but I had to get in on this conversation!
Remember the scene where the kid is looking at the pictures of the birds then the bird hits the window and dies right after?
The kid is "special" as in the kid made that polar bear appear - it looked fake b/c it was a reproduction of the polar bear in the comic book...

They've been suggesting all along that Walt has some sort of ability to make things happen that he thinks about.
Both polar bear sightings have been on shows where Walt has been shown reading his comic with a polar bear in it.
The bird crashing into the window after he had been complaining about Australian birds.
Perfect throw with the knife after picturing it in his mind.
Always getting the perfect roll of the dice while playing backgammon with Locke.
His stepfather's claim about things happening when Walt is around.
Could his mother's death be because of the same thing? Or how about the airplane crash? Or the island itself?

hmmm It's Walt Disney reincarnated! The only thing he couldn't do was get his dog to come back both times, but then again it wasn't his dog.
Too bad it was only the polar bear he focused on. It would have been pretty cool to see the Green Lantern and the Flash running all over the island.
OH, and Claire really needs a shower after getting kidnapped by tom cruise's cousin.

When Claire came back, it didn't look like she was pregnant anymore. Somebody has her devil baby.

I thought I noticed that too, but she was wearing black clothing and wasn't on the screen for any long lenth of time so it was hard to tell.
One thing about this show though.. an episode can be so-so sometimes.. but something always happens that makes me want to watch the next one.

I think this show has a lot more to do with Walt than is realized. Did you notice the island with the water swirling around it in the comic book? It looked just like the island on the map they were looking at. Talk about "making things happen!"
