I did not know it was supposed to turn into Siberia at 9 pm tonight. Thanks for nothing David Spence. Storm of the year hits and I'm operating under the assumption that it was to be 'partly cloudy and minus 5'. My ass. Do your job Darr.
And weather network, you're never right.Ever. Give up. Unless it's Hawaii your forcasts are about as accurate as a Sheldon Surray slap shot.
Good night and good luck (getting a cab that is)

I was driving home tonght and it turned from light blowing snow, to heavy snow, to blizzard, to whiteout. Then I get in my parking lot and find someone has parked in my spot. Yay. And this was in Acadia!
United redirected one of their Calgary flights to my airport (Billings, MT) due to weather up there. Must be coming down pretty heavy to have an international flight redirected and staged here since 10 or so last night.
I feel bad for the passengers since we have no customs area, so they have to remain either on the plane, or in the gate area of the terminal. Vending machine breakfast anyone?
We had our first tornado warning of the year last night. Here we go again.
Sorry to hear of your blizzard guys.

It was brutal. I drive to work at 5pm, and it is relatively nice out, only -6, not windy, no snow. Then at about 9:30 I get a delivery and have to drive to Panorama (from where I work in Beddington, it is about 7km), and holy smokes, can't even see 40 feet in front of me the wind/snow is so bad. On Beddington Trail where the speed limit is 80, me and another Cobalt are doing about 85, he was doing about 95 when he passed me, then we get to the off ramp and he immedeatily slows down to about 15-20, and holy crap it was bad. Went from nothing to almost no visibility going down. From there on out I had about 30 feet in front of me visibility. Winds are super strong, tons of strong snow, all my windows are instantly covered and I can't see anything. Drove like that for about 25 minutes (usually would take me about 7 minutes), to the house, and came back.
Easily the worst conditions I have ever driven in, ever.
After the storm like 2-4 months ago that started all of this (icy backroads that never recovered from the ice), I think it will finally melt, then this happens. It wasn't cold yesterday during the storm, just bloody windy and tons of snow.
Went for dinner last night at 8 in the south and it was pretty nice out. No snow at all and decently warm.
When Im paying the bill at 10, our server tells us to take care on the roads. I shrug it off until I see the door!!!!
Deerfoot was basically going 30 and it was damned near impossible to see in front of your car.

Damned near impossible? I would say it was impossible! Where I was it looked like there were only 2 lanes, from 4, and the two people I could see had their hazards on, which I never thought of doing, but a smart idea. Luckily I only had to drive on it for a km 'til the exit. We were doing maybe 40 at best.
Then I get on the onramp and head to the lights so I can turn left and go to Deerfoot Mall (Wal-Mart), and the light never turned green. I was sitting there for over 6 minutes when I just said forget this and ran the red. Then coming back I had to do the light again, but go through the one that was always green, and noticed others running the red. Obviously the sensors on the ground weren't working but jeez.
It was pretty bad out here in the boonies, came out of nowhere and blew stuff all over the neighborhood including my BBQ. Crazy whiteouts, feel bad for you folks on the roads. David Spence must hang for this.
Highway 2 from Airdrie to Olds is a TON of fun right now... in case someone thinks of heading up that way. 70-80 km/hr average, down to 30 km/hr in some spots.
I BBQ'd last night. After dinner was over, I went outside to pack up the BBQ. Except I couldn't FIND it! There was just a vaguely BBQ-shaped mound of snow on the patio. WTF indeed! I think I actually went so far as to get testy about it.
