Default Storage / Moving options?

We are going to be moving within the city and before our other place is ready we're going to need to put our stuff somewhere. What are our best options and more importantly easiest. We're willing to pay some extra $$$ if it means it's easy and by easy I mean avoiding moving stuff from our place onto a truck, then truck to storage unit, then eventually back to truck then house etc. etc. Is there anyway options of moving stuff once directly from our house onto a truck or storage unit and leaving there until we move again. I keep hearing of something called PODS? Thanks in advance for any advice or stories. This is our first big move and we have kids so easiest is best for us.

We just went through the same thing. We had to clean out a bunch of stuff so that our house would show well.

We used PODS and they were great. It is fairly expensive, but very convienent.

They bring a storage container to your place (in 4x8, 8x8, 8x16) and you fill it at your liesure. Once it is full, you call them back and they pick it up. They store the container in their secure and heated warehouse and drop it back off at the location of your choice (in most cases your new residence). The containers themselves are pretty cool; they get lifted and moved by a mobile hydraulic vehicle that mounts on the back of the 5 ton truck they use for deliver and pick up.

The cost for the 8x16 is $327 per partial month that it is in storage. The delivery and pick up fee is somewhere around $100.

This following recommendation may not be for you as it is a total "DIY" operation, but I found Blackfoot Self Storage (Blackfoot and about 42 ave) to be good. It's an old warehouse so if you have a truck they can back right onto the loading dock. They have flatbed dollies for moving stuff too. Heated, clean but zero frills and price was good.

I have 15 U-Haul boxes, various sizes, if you want to pick them up.
