Post Need hockey pool help!!

Hey guys...I have come to you for your help.

I am in a yahoo keeper hockey pool.

I need a tender and can spare a dman.

I have -Phaneuf, Nieds, Rafalski, Mara, Streit and Keith.

I have been offered either Khabibulin or Huet...in return I must give up Rafalski Nieds or Streit. From a fantasy standpoint...the least valuable in my pool right now is Rafalski...because of all the stats that are taken into consideration. I cant afford play them all the rest of the year as I will go over max games...

I have also been offered Zubov in the deal as well....what would you do? Of the 2...who would you take?...keeping in mind it is a keeper pool.

Hopefully you have other choices for a tender since they are sharing the duties in Chicago. But if you had to choose one, take the Bulin Wall, he is playing more than Huet right now and has the confidence of the team. You'd be lucky to get two games in the same week from Huet.

As for who to give up, keep Niedermeyer for sure, he's been on fire through January. If plus/minus is one consideration, then keep Rafalski. But if it isn't, then flip a coin between Streit and Rafalski.

Also, I seemed to remember that Streit tailed off towards the end of last year...but I could be misremembering (thanks Rocket Roger for that word). It could be that he is not used to the longer NHL season yet. It sometimes takes European players a few years to get used to playing longer seasons.

Thanks for your help

I am just worried about not only this season but next...you think Bulin will be a better keeper for next season as well?

And between Rafalski and Nieds...who would you rather have left over as one of your keepers for next yea? Will Nieds call it quits again? Thas what I'm worried about.

Heres some solid advice:

Dont pick Radulov.

Yeah, I'd give up Niedermayer for Khabibulin. Goalies are more of an assest especially when there is a good shot that Nieds retires after this year.

I wouldn't give up any type of a long term piece for either of those goalies in a keeper. Nieds will be done soon, so getting Khabi for him is acceptable.

Do NOT give anything up for Zubov.

being a keeper league, I guess you need to decide what is more important: this year or future years. If you are in the hunt, then keeping Niedermeyer makes some sense, but it'll hurt you in the long run (he will retire soon). If you are not in the hunt this year, then build for the future and dump Nieds.

I would have to agree about Niedermayer as well. I just traded Lindstrom in my pool for Garborik and then traded him for St. Louis. I also have Rafalski and Streit .... i had the same offer however in a keeper pool i had to look at the age of the players. Have you tried to get somone else then Khabi? I use to have him at the start of the year but got him off the wire, made a good trade for him.

Also, Khabi i believe is an UFA at the end of the season, something else to consider. I would go with Huet. The way the caps are playing can't go wrong with them and Huet does not have a big contract sitting on the bench like Khabi does.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

I needed a new defenceman because Wideman's out for the year. So I added one, and in "Player to Drop", I accidentally clicked on Antoine Vermette!!! And now I can't get him back unless he clears waivers(did I mention I'm in 2nd place in an 18 team league? He's as good as gone). Well, I'm ######ed.
