Default Best product to use to clean your monitor screen

In this day and age of lcd monitors I just don't know what to use. In the old days of crt's I'd just give it a spray of windex and it would be good to go.

I just tried using a product that I normally use to clean my eye glasses (Ultra Clean eyeglass cleaner) but it didn't work very well as it left everything very streaky.

Any suggestions?

50% solution of isopropyl alcohol and water is probably what your manufacturer recommends. Do not use windex or any other ammonia based sprays unless it specifically says in your documentation.

I have found that the premoistened ones dry out and leave a lot of streaks. The best thing I have found is a glasses cloth (or any soft lint free cloth) and a bottle of cleaner solution (commercial or the 50/50 homemade mix I listed above) works best for me.

This one works wonders, especially if you are using it on a laptop and want to have it with you all the time as it is very compact..

Really? How long to you go between cleanings? I am pretty anal about my monitors and and fingerprints make me angry. I clean my monitors alot and love the packs I buy from Memex.

I find spewed coffee and a cloth work well. JK.

All I use is a soft cloth dampened with tap water, then wipe it dry with a dry soft cloth. Seems to work okay.
