Default iPhone ringtones???

I just got my iPhone and I was disappointed to find out (after I bought it of course) that the option of buying ringtones from itunes isn't available in Canada.

I did some research on the net and found some ways to make your own ringtones but it seems Apple has since fixed that so you can't do that either.

So, what is everyone doing for ringtones? Sorry if the answers are common knowledge, as I said before, I am new owner.

That is all you will need. Or you can download a program called iRinger to make your own from mp3s.

Unless something changed recently you can make them using iTunes. Here's a video showing what you need to do.

Yep, cut it up and then all you need is to hit share --> send ringtone to itunes

How to get ringtones (PC)

-Find a song that you want from your iTunes library

-Goto Preferences, extract no more than 30 seconds of song. change start time and end time, make sure it is 30 sec or less. when you play song, it should only play the 30 secs.

-make sure your format is AAC, if not change it. you can change it back later

-convert your 30sec song to AAC, this will give your new song a .m4a file extension.

-drag song to desktop

-change .m4a to .m4r

-drag new .m4r file to ringtone library...you have new ringtone.

when done, you can delete the m4a file you just created. make sure you change your original song times back so it will play entire song.

that is it
