Ottawa has a load of museums. If you're into that sort of thing it could take you daaaaaaaaays to finish them all. Check out the Byward Market in downtown Ottawa... you can also take a nice walk along the canal or even kayak/canoe in it... or take boat tours on it. That's all I can think of in Ottawa for the time being.

If you're flying into Montreal, I highly recommend getting some wheels and cruising around the city. It's just such a cool town. You can easily fill 4.5 days on foot, but nothing beats jumping in a car and just getting lost and discovering stuff.

Ottawa's pretty damn boring in the winter so I wouldn't plan to have your mind blown by the city.

I would recommend to go check out the War museum and the national gallery. After the national gallery head on down to the market and check out Chez Lucien, a french canadian bar on Murray St. It's got a great feel and has excellent burgers.

For other good eats go up Rideau St and hit up Shwarma Palace, best Shwarma in the city amazing.

In Ottawa, make sure you eat at the Mekong (if you like Chinese/Vietnamese cuisine that is).

Ottawa - Golden Palace - best egg rolls. Also, is Hubba Bubbas (gentleman's club) still there? I always thought that was the funniest name for a bar.

National Art Gallery in Hull is very impressive. Also, Museum of Civilization. Parliament Hill.

I've lived in Ottawa my entire life and I've never heard of Hubba Bubbas.

Contact a dodgy Russian, Jew, or Italian. Get him to hook you up with cars and whores while in the Montreal

No idea, in Canada I have never been east of Winnipeg. Except 1 three day weekend in the Montreal, and the only thing I remember about that weekend is a girl named Lisa (or the french equivelant) from the University of Laval.

NAG isn't actually on Parliament hill, it's actually on Major's hill, almost directly beside the Royal Canadian Mint.

Stay out of Musuem of Civilization - it's brutal. Clearly, an excuse to transfer some more of our money to QUE. Nothing on that side of the bridge worth seeing except naked dancers.

Well, there's also cheap(er) beer.

And Gatineau Park is nice.

Ottawa is awesome on Canada Day.

Stay away from the Asian restaurants in Ottawa - they just aren't very good at all. Take this from an Asian guy... but the vietnamese noodle soup (pho) is the best I've had in Canada, so if you like that, check that out... Pho Bo Ga L.A. on Somerset (there's two, go to the newer one) is probably the best one...

Plenty of other good restaurants that are in the area though... Restaurant Les Fougeres in Chelsea is good and Trattoria on Preston Street is a great place for Italian.

Other than that, lots of great museums to check out in Ottawa as mentioned... party scene is very weak, so do that in Montreal... oh and check out the casino in Hull (Casino du lac leamy)... nice place!

Most of the Chinese restaurants really do suck (and by that I don't mean those hole in the wall Chinese take outs, I mean authentic Chinese food places). Pho on the other hand, I've been to several pho places, there are a few in Chinatown (on Somerset past Bronson) that stick out at me but I forgot the name... And there's like 6 different Pho Bo Ga L.A. in Chinatown now, it's crazy!

Ottawa museums and galleries invite visitors to experience the best of Canada all in one place. The stunning National Gallery of Canada presents the country's national art collection and outstanding international exhibitions throughout the year. The incomparable Canadian Museum of Civilization celebrates Canadian and world cultures, and houses the world's largest indoor collection of totem poles in its beautiful Grand Hall. The Canadian War Museum pays tribute to the country's military past, while the unique Diefenbunker, Canada's Cold War Museum, presents a look at a chilly time in international relations. The Canada Aviation Museum proudly displays one of the world's finest collections of aircraft. Looking for dinosaurs? Head to the Canadian Museum of Nature. Into science? Check out the Canada Science and Technology Museum. Interested in money? Visit the Royal Canadian Mint and the Currency Museum. And for the complete story behind the building of the Rideau Canal – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – stop by the Bytown Museum, nestled next to the Canal locks downtown.
