Any good movies to watch?
I havent gone to the theatre to watch a movie in quite a while because it seems like there aren't any good movies that has come out for the past few weeks.. 2 movies with Brendan Fraser? Has hell frozen over?!
Seems like the only recent movie to get good reviews is Burn After Reading

I think you mean Burn After Reading!
Let me direct you to a thread with hundreds of excellent suggestions on movies to watch. It doesn't have to be new to be worthwhile!!

Believe it or not I actually thought Tropic Thunder was funny. I'm usually kind of a movie snob but I really enjoyed it.

You should check out this website. You can find virtually every single movie playing in the city. There's a few good ones out right now at the Uptown like Hamlet 2 and the Last Mistress. Bottle Shock is pretty funny and that's playing at the Globe.

I watch a ridiculous amount of movies (as do a lot of people on this site it seems)... if you tell us the type of movies you prefer or some other movies you really like, you'll probably get a lot of recommendations.

Here's a thread that has dozens of good older movies, nothing new but there are still quite a few suggestions. A post or two of mine in particular list off about 30 of my faves.

Seconded.
Moderate expectations going in. Pleasantly surprised.

Thirded. It is quite clever in places and some of it really had me laughing - loved Tom Cruise as the meaty producer and even Ben Stiller's shtick, worn thin as it is, is IMO pretty damn funny in this. This has not been the most exhilarating summer at the movies for me but I had a great time watching this one.
Need some ideas for a DVD to rent, take a look at the Movie Draft thread - it is chock full of goodies (and I am by no means speaking for myself here!).
On the Read After Burning note (tried that once - doesn't work), still looking to hear what Ro has to say about his experience seeing that one at the TIFF, if he ended up going...

I think Young @ Heart is available on DVD now (not 100% sure, I saw it in theatres a few month ago). It's a documentary about a choir where the average age is 80+ and they sing rock/punk songs. I really enjoyed it; its funny and very touching. Great movie to watch with the wife/girlfriend.

I second The Bank Job.
A little ludicrous, but great entertainment

I'm a big fan of pineapple express! James Franco is so funny in this movie trust me. Having never smoked marijuana this movie still comes across hilarious and my buddy and I found ourselves quoting the movie days and weeks after.
My friends brother is a stoner so we decided to go over to his house to help him move to truley see inside the eyes of a stoner. It just so happens that he had to get rid of his cat the day we were there but couldnt find someone to take it. This is how the conversations went. *Keep in mind everyone was stoned here except my buddy and I *
Friends Brother (Standing by the Kitchen, Stoned) : Damn man, I got to get rid of this f***in cat.
Friends brothers friend : Yeah man, definitly.
Random Stranger (This guy just walked in from the apartment hallway, total stoner) : Yeah man, I had to get rid of a cat once...It took a s-hi-t in the sink, that was the last straw man.
Brothers Friend: Yeah, man. What did you do?
Random Stranger: Yeah man, I took it to a playground.......Little Kids.....Recess....Just let it go.
My Buddy and I : *LOL*, But the funny part was everyone else in the room was like yeah good idea man, sweet.
After the fourth time seeing that movie I still laugh.

I'll second "In Bruges".
I also thought "Death at a Funeral" was decent if you like British homour.
Finally, if you haven't seen "No Country for Old Men" yet, I'd definitely pick it up. I just watched it again after having read the book and seen the movie in theatres, and was still thoroughly entertained.
