Valentine's Day
Wow, a lot of depressing threads in the scroll today.
Happy Valentine's Day everyone....
Any unique gifts out there?
I gave my husband an email and a blog posting.
I would put it here, but have no clue how to embed YouTube video.
Here are the links instead.
This is what he sent me;

The girl that I am seeing had to work today, so I told her that I was coming to get her for lunch, but that was all.
So when I went and got her, I folded down the back seats of my car, I had a table cloth set up and everything and we had a really nice picnic lunch which I had spent part of the morning preparing.
She was really floored and loved it too.

Valentine's day is nice and all, but if a person needs an excuse like a fake holiday to do something nice for their significant other they suck and their relationship is doomed.
God I hate being single.

I love my girlfriend and everything and I tell her so, and of course we do nice things together. But I'm just not a very romantic person. The whole thing makes me awkward, I felt embarassed even buying flowers today. Thank God my girlfriend's the exact same way, she's even told me before that overt romance makes her embarassed and uncomfortable. Haha thank God I met her, otherwise I'd be single for life, I dont think most girls would like my incredibly awkward romantic gestures if I were dating them.
We're about to head out to a nice Greek restaurant with a good Valentine's Day ambiance, I can't wait to get my souvlaki on!

Booze. Hard f'n liquor.
Actually, when I've been dating I hate this day too, since I was 18 this is basically my heavy drinking day. So nice it's a Saturday this year. Now I don't even really hate it anymore, it's just a nice excuse to abuse my liver in new ways.

Usually the romantic gestures have to come first and then my chances of that happening usually improve significantly.

I got a bag of Swedish Berries from my neighbour. They are too delicious, I am practically through the whole bag already.
I had a guy from my work that seems to have a crush on me try and give me a pretty expensive gift, but it didn't feel right to accept it. I don't like him like that, and don't think I ever will, and the gift was clearly very expensive. Not sure if I did the right thing, as I think he was quite hurt. I feel bad about that, but like I said, it didn't feel right accepting it.

I had a similar thing happen to me today.
I was walking up the street to go to the gym, and a homeless guy stopped me and gave me a flower. I didn't feel right accepting it, so I tried to give him 50 cents. He didn't seem to feel right accepting that, so it was kind of an awkward Mexican standoff.
Finally I just took the flower and kept the 50 cents and wished him a happy Valentine's day. Then I had to figure out what to do with the flower before I got to the gym. So I gave it to another homeless guy I passed along the way.
He was quite happy with it.

As painful as it may have been for that guy you had to reject his gift. Accepting his gift would have caused greater problems down the road. Sooner or later you would have had to deal with problem plus accepting would only fuel his crush on you even more.. At the same time it wasn't fair of him to buy you that expensive gift. He should have known it was going to put you in an uncomfortable position.

From the looks of my sales today, I'm guessing luggage wasn't the present of choice this year...

Sent the Wife and Mom to the spa today. They quite enjoyed it, enough to make it a regular thing. I don't think my wallet can handle that..

No offense, but if someone bought me luggage as a gift without me asking, I would definitely take it the wrong way... as in someone wanting me to pack my stuff and leave
