I was thrilled to hear Normie is likely to be the next Lt. Gov. for Alberta. I have the highest admiration for Normie - I can't imagine what it would have been like to be Chinese and playing in the football leagues back in the 50's. People cringe nowadays when someone calls someone Jarome a Monkey, but I'm sure a whole lot worse was thrown at Normie, and it was acceptable to do so. Name calling might have been the easiest he had to take. I also remember Normie bailing water at the Stamps when it was looking grim for the boys in Red. Set the ship straight until it got sold to F-Troop. Anybody still have a Normie Kwong mask kicking around? That Normie also had a hand with our Flames is only icing on the cake!
The Herald had a great write up on the weekend on Normie. Cool stat I never knew - Normie is the only Canadian with his name on both the Grey Cup and the Stanley Cup.
The Sun has a great article with some great quotes from ex-Eskimo teamates on Normie

Chuck Quilter was Kwong's first roomie. "I didn't like his cooking,'' quipped Quilter. "But he sure did the laundry well.''
"One day it was so miserable outside that there just wasn't anything to do. Nobody else was around. Normie and Jackie just sat there and stared out the window. All of a sudden one of them says, '$10 on the rain drops and I've got this one.' They sat there betting on which raindrop would get to the bottom of the window pane first.''
"I always used to kid Kwong that in 10 years he scored 70 touchdowns and if you looked it up, he only had 70 yards rushing,'' Bright once joked. "I'd lug the ball down the field to the one and he'd carry it in.''
Great stuff. Go get em Normie!
