Default Let the CFL Free Agent signing begins

Sunday, February 15th at 10pm MST is the deadline for declaring free agency. Some teams did not wait too long to sign some free agent players and it seems like OLinemen are the hot commodity last night.

Winnipeg and Saskatchewan are the busiest team so far with free agent signing and trades. Here's a couple of trades first:

- Winnipeg acquired LB Shabazz from Edmonton in return for Kai Ellis.

- Winnipeg acquired CB James Johnson from Saskatchewan for 2011 Draft pick (not specified which pick).

Free Agent signing:

WINNIPEG signed OL Glenn January(Sask)

SASKATCHEWAN: signed Moose Jaw native OL Joe McGrath(Edm) amd also signed LB Aaron Wagner(Tor)

TORONTO: signed OL Dominic Picard(Wpg)

HAMILTON: signed former Stamps OL Alexander Gauthier(Wpg)

List of free agent: http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/feature/?id=143
* denotes Canadian

QB: None

RB: 2 Canadian RB are available. *Jesse Lumsden(Ham) and *FB Graeme Bell(Wpg)

Receivers: *SB Dave Stalla(Mtl), WR Brian Bratton(Mtl) and DJ Flick(Sask)

OL: *Mike Abou-Mechek(Sask), *Luke Fritz(Mtl), *Kyle Koch(Wpg), *Steve Morley(Sask), *Dave Mudge(Mtl), Rob Murphy(BC)

DB: Calvin Bannister(Cgy), Julian Battle(Cgy), IKe Charlton(Wpg), *Tristan Clovis(Sask), *Shawn Gallant(Mtl), *Scott Gordon(Sask), Adrian Mayes(Tor), *Leron Mitchell(Sask), Willie Pile(Tor), ex-Stamps *Walter Spencer(Mtl).

LB: Dwayne Carpenter(Cgy), Michael Fletcher(Tor), Cam Hall(Wpg), Maurice Llyod(Sask), *Mike McCullough(Sask) and Anton McKenzie(Sask)

DL: Devone Claybrooks(Mtl), Eddie Freeman(Cgy), Tearrius George(Cgy), Brandon Guillory(Edm), *Alain Kashama(Ham), Matt Kirk(BC) and ex-Stamps pick *Jon Oosterhuis(Wpg)

Kicker/Punter: Jamie Boreham(Sask) and Burke Dales(Cgy)

Free Agent already signed with NFL: LB Jamall Johnson(BC) to Tampa Bay and RB Dominc Dorsey(Tor) to Washington.

Expect to see OL Rob Murphy to sign with Hamilton or stay with BC. LB Carpenter might re-sign with the Stamps, DL Freeman might stay with Cgy. I don't see a lot free agent players that would be able to help the Stamps this season so I don't think they will be busy this off-season.

With Hall now coaching the Esks, I would suspect that we continue to see Riders sign in Edmonton.

EDMONTON - Jesse Lumsden is going home.
A CFL source requesting anonymity has told The Canadian Press that the speedy running back has agreed to terms with the Edmonton Eskimos.
Lumsden is an Edmonton native and his father, Neil, is a former Eskimos player.

more update: Receiver Bratton re-signed with the Als, LB Anton MacKenzie signed with BC, FB Graeme Bell signed with the Eskimos, DL Matt Kirk to BC. No official announcement yet but I saw the TSN ticker the other day saying Burke Dales agreed to a deal with Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Also, as we all know Jesse Lumsden signed a one-year plus option with the Eskimos.
Looks like Edmonton Eskimos and Winnipeg Blue Bombers are making a lot of changes for next season.
