As not much (if any) of a NFL-follower, I vaguely heard something about his teammates criticizing him or something of the sorts? What did they say exactly?

I guess teams got enough film on the Jets and the Jets didn't/couldn't adapt. I'm not sure it was all Favre's fault, but I also don't think he helped himself or his team, and trying to do it all himself wasn't a new thing for Favre. Everyone got what they deserve.

I used to be a Favre fan, but retiring then unretiring and then going to the Jets has certainly has reduced my opinion of him. If he really wanted to play he should have not retired in the first place.

I suppose as a pro athlete it is the hardest thing to do - walk away from the game you love.

If I was a pro-athlete, I would play until they wouldn't let me play any longer - screw the going out at the top of your game crap -- if you love it, play. As much as I dislike Chelios, I respect him for staying in shape and playing and playing and playing.

He better not get another press conference. I still can't believe he started contemplating retirement to the media again before the season was even over and the Jets were in a playoff fight. What an attention whore goob.

I respected him a lot when he was a Packer but that took a little bit of a hit last year.

With that said he was a great QB and is 1st in all time passing yards for a QB and all time TD Passes. Additionally he is only 1 of 2 players to win 3 NFL MVP's for the regular season (Peyton Manning is the other).

True, but even in the first half when he was lightin things up he had still developed a bad rep for all the junk that went down during the off-season. It's amazing how far he's dropped in one calender year. It was just last Feb when he had his tearful PC and SI released a whole book dedicated to his legacy. Seems like it was years ago now.
