Default Two of my Apple products giving my problems

So I have a two year old Macbook that has been freezing a lot lately. Nothing new added to it recently, it just seems to freeze every now and then. Also, when typing, it will occasionally erase all the text for some strange reason. Not sure what other details to give you guys, but is there something I can do to try and clean it up a bit or something?

And my two or so year old video iPod has also been freezing. The other day, it just reset itself, and then a white screen appeared with two lines of text...I can't remember what it said, but it took quite a while for it to come back. I erased everything from it, and it seems to be working OK, but it acts up when synched up with iTunes.

Any general things I can try?

Sounds like the iPod is hooped, I had one that had similar problems and it turned out the Hard Drive was on it's last legs, just shutting itself down and trying to restart.

not too sure about the mac book

I would just take the MacBook in and pray.

Very original

Sorry to hear about your computer. Ipods (being primarily a little hard drive) will only work for so long, but at least they aren't too pricey. Macbooks on the other hand aren't something you want to be buying too many times over a 2 year span. That may be a bit of a pain. I'd take it in to an apple store and see what they have to say (nevermind, just noticed you're from up north ... perhaps give them a call). You could also try backing everything up and starting fresh.

We have an Apple store up here as well, but I don't know if it's severe enough to warrant that. It hasn't froze yet today, but the typing has acted up a couple of times.

Have you updated the OS software?

Also, try creating a new user and running under that.
