Default Blink-182 Reunited!

http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/160...link_182.jhtml

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blink-1...9:_Reformation

Quote:
At the 51st Grammy Awards ceremony on February 8, 2009, all three members of the band appeared onstage for the first time since December 2004.[10] Barker announced the band's reformation, stating that "we used to play music together, and we decided we're going to play music together again," with Hoppus adding, "Blink-182 is back!" A message appearing on the band's website the same day confirmed the reformation and added that the band is in the studio writing and recording a new album and preparing for a world tour.
YESSS!

I was always a little choked I never made it to one of their shows and didn't think I'd ever have the chance again.

Too bad +44's album that was due out appears to be shelved now, I didn't mind them. Before Tom DeLonge got all artsy they put out some great stuff. Yes I know it's mindless pop, but it was great mindless pop and their live album is hilarious. Amazing how many of their songs actually sound better live. Most bands are the total opposite.

Glad to see the "if music is popular it must suck" crowd made it out for this one

You tell yourselves you love Johnny Cash, but you feel empty and unconvinced.

Reunited and it feels so good
Reunited 'cause we understood
There's one perfect fit
And, sugar, this one is it
We both are so excited 'cause we're reunited, hey, hey

(I'll leave this here until troutman sees the thread and comes up with some more applicable lyrics; for now, Peaches and Herb it is)

Phew...I was beginning to worry about the decline in the amount of pop-punk music available these days.

This great news. I started getting serious about drumming around the same time Travis Barker joined blink (enema of the state), and would learn every song he was a part of, whether it was blink, boxcar racer, transplants etc, because I idolized him that much.

He isn't up there with the great drummers of all time, but at the time his was the best drumming to learn from because I was young and full of energy.

As for Blink 182, it'll be intersting to hear how their new music turns out, as musically Tom was going a different direction than Mark and Travis when they broke up.

You could really hear their differences bewteen the songs that Tom wrote and the songs Mark wrote on their final album before the breakup, and became even more clear when listening to Angels and Airwaves and plus 44.

Definitly can't wait to hear how this turns out.

However, as it turns out there's no point in actually discussing the band at all. It's a great thread with a bunch of crappy, one liner responses, it must be a CP thread about a band. I honestly think Mods should just start deleting dumb posts from music threads. We get it, you don't like the band/music being discussed.

If you have something constructive to add, then add it (even if it's negative about the band) but if all you have is a stuipid comment that you are giggling about in your head as you type it, then go join one of those crappy, unmoderated forums, where every thread degenerates into a "this sucks, that sucks, you suck, your mom sucks, well your country sucks, what your country is doing in Iraq is dumb and wrong, well your pansy country is stupid, USA USA!" gayfest.

Mods, what do you think? Let's keep this site somewhat mature eh?

No, humor is great, there's lots of room for it on this site. It's just the complete takeover of anything music related by posters who think their one liners are really funny because it isn't their cup of tea that irks me.

I can play every song off Dude Ranch on guitar and drums. I friggin' loved that album... I was 16 when it came out... and I had blue hair... skateboarded... skipped class to smoke pot in the woods. I was the epitome of their demographic.

That said, when the 90's ended, so did any interest I had in blink. I'd probably go see them if they came here though, for nostalgia sake anyway.

I'm totally going to listen to Dude Ranch now.

Actually, I was a huge Blink fan, but A&A and +44 and Boxcar Racer sucked out loud.

They've betrayed my trust and it'll take something more than a familiar name to win it back.

They're no Men with Hats....
