Gay-Tham for Statham
The always hilarious Patton Oswalt has a new Jason Statham-centric blog up on his myspace.
I've never agreed more thoroughly with someone else's blog than I have with this one.
An excerpt:
Quote:
Statham's imdb.com profile, collectively, is a promise to you, the weary filmgoer. It's a promise that says, "I promise that you will not FOR ONE SECOND be bored during one of my movies. You won't learn sh*t about the human condition, or feel a collective connection with the brotherhood of man. But if you give me $10, I will f*** an explosion while a Slayer song plays".
|
I am so glad there is a brotherhood out there for me.
I am Gay-tham for Statham.

That was a good read. Unfortunately for Oswalt, The Bank Job is probably his only movie, since Snatch, that isn't all action based. It isn't exactly boring though, just not really an action movie.

If he is, this is a pretty good 7 year cover...

I'm pretty sure my wife would leave me at the drop of a hat for Mr. Statham.
By the looks of that picture above, perhaps we could work out a swap?

Must've been someone else then. I've been bored in plenty of his movies. I fell asleep during The Italian Job.

I've always been a big fan of Statham (especially in the Snatch/Lock Stock movies). I still think the guy should've been Bond, instead of the that musclehead bouncer.

Daniel Craig is a "musclehead bouncer"?

I wonder what would happen if Jason Statham and Chuck Norris fought?

I forgot that Statham was in Ghosts on mars but I caught it last night on the Space Channel. He made out with Natasha Henstridge back when she was still smoking hot in that movie.
Imagine getting paid for that...

I would be suprised if Daniel Craig is more than 150lbs.

I was subjected to this un-Stathamesque one boring night. Awful movie, but he was surprisingly effective in a different role for him

Well yeah, most actors are much tinier than they appear. Personally, I think his overall presence is rather clunky, and lacks the suave, but deadly, nature of what a Bond character should be IMO. Definitely would have preferred Statham....or Clive Owen....or Christian Bale.

I've seen his workout somewhere on the net, and it was pretty intense.
I like some of his movies, for some odd reason i did not like the Transporter ones.
