Default Palm finally launches new Web OS, and promising new phone too!!

I've always been a Palm fan but good grief they sat on their arse for a long time.

No longer though :

Yeah kinda a retro look. Simple yet sleek. Tied to Sprint in the USA when it first comes out but already a GSM version in the works. My TX is still doing everything I need at the moment but when I buy(never at the start--wait till the price drops--they iron out the bugs-they make improvements) it should be a very nice upgrade!!!!

Glad someone noticed this too. I was refreshing constantly yesterday while engadget was live blogging the event. Always liked Palm devices too and this looks like it could be a big hit. Engadget has a hands on video and the interface looks pretty slick. They mention releasing an SDK soon and with the support from the large community Palm has always had, there should be a large number of apps coming out for web OS, especially since it's all css, html, and js.

If I needed all the smartphone goodness (or is it new-ness?) I'd be looking for one of these. If a cell carrier in this country ever came out with reasonable packages I'd be in line to buy a pre.

Ahhh well it's good to know I'm not the only geek who watched the whole thing online. Though one of the boards I frequent had quite a few doing the same(pda board).
