Is it worth the money? Or should I wait how ever long it takes GT5 to come out?

I bought it and NHL09 last week. At the time I didn't realize there was a new actual GT5 coming out (didn't put two and two together with the whole "Prologue" in the title).

I don't really have a comparison as I am new to PS3 and haven't played any of the other car games out there, but I like it. To me the graphics are unreal. Tons of different cars to drive but there are only 5 or 6 tracks so it might get boring after a while. I just ventured into the online racing last night and was getting my butt kicked so apparently I need a lot more practice. For $40 I think it is worth it, although if I knew a new version was coming out I probably would have bought the used copy at EB Games instead.

Anyone know when GT5 is supposed to be coming out? What is it supposed to be like?

It was supposed to be out in 2008 but now it's listed as TBA 2009.

my buddy is the biggest GT fan out there, and he bought it this weekend when he picked up his ps3. He says it's a total waste of money, and wishes he had bought something else. Personally, I tried it at a store for about 10 minutes, graphically it was great, but seemed very limited as it's basically just an expensive demo.

There was a thread on neoGAF a week ago that linked an interview with the lead developer. He basically said he has no idea when the game will actually come out and 2010 is a definite possibility.

Hard to believe they have a full demo released and the main release is still a few years away. I wonder if they are having some issues with online or multi-player?

I'm trying to find the interview in question, but I'm not having much luck. It was last week so it could be pretty far back on a site like NeoGAF.

I don't think the interview went into the specifics of why there were delays, but online issues always seem to the major cause of delays. Especially in racing games where framerate has to be high and can't stutter at all.
