Help!!!! Brand new PS3 problem

Hey guys, I rented NHL09 and when I put it in my machine, it was saying a software update was needed, so I selected yes. The installation then stalled at 99%, and it's stuck............the maual says not to turn off or remove any media while the update is taking place or it may need repair or exchange!!!! Anyone have experience with this??

I would just turn it off. Sounds like you don't have too many options.

How long has it been stuck for? I would leave it for a good half hour or so, was auto turn off selected?

The update is probably installed, so it was probably best to just turn it off if it didn't continue on.
