Default Tsn unveils top 10 sports stories of 2008

Which one of these do you consider the top story of 2008?

Brett Favre's departure from the Green Bay Packers

Brian Burke making daily headlines and taking over the Leafs' top job

Boston Celtics return to glory

Historic Olympic performances from Michael Phelps and Usain Bolt

Roger Clemens' fall from grace

Sean Avery's exploits

Super Bowl upset – Giants end Patriots' bid for a perfect season

Tampa Bay Rays' rise from worst to first
Tiger Woods' courageous win at the US Open

Wimbledon: Nadal vs. Federer – maybe the greatest tennis match ever played

These were listed in alphabetical order. I'd vote for the Superbowl upset

I'd probably go with Tiger winning the Open on one leg.

It will be the Olympics story for sure....but it should be Tiger.

Third place goes to the Super Bowl upset

Either one could be on this list by itself. Putting them together makes this a no-brainer for me.

Bolt and Phelps.

The Tampa Bay Rays.

They did exactly what we did in 04.

The Phelps/Bolt madness was ridiculous. Gotta be that story.

Top 3 in no particular order are the Olympics, Tiger and Super Bowl.

For me it is the Super Bowl, but I am a Pats fan. I was so shocked that stupid Eli Manning, the same guy who I traded for just in time for him to blow my 11-2 season in fantasy with two playoff losses that were directly attributed to him, was able to beat the undefeated Patriots.

Tiger would be second, but I am getting accustomed to him being able to do whatever he wants. I would bet that even if he had the surgery, then took only a couple weeks and didn't rehab, he still would have won most of the tournaments he played in. Instead he has been at home with his beautiful wife. Tough life this guy has.

I don't give a crap about the Olympics, but Phelps is an amazing athlete so I give him and his story props.

Surprised they didn't include the continuing Mats Sundin saga... they've covered it more than any other story.

I thought the Celtics were a pretty unreal story this past year.

It would be close between that and Tiger.

The hardest accomplishment had to be the Olympics, but the most entertaining, for me at least, had to be the Super Bowl.

It's amazing that Clemens is on that list... feels like years since we were talking about that guy.l

I don't understand why Tiger is a big story at all. The guy is such an overactor.

The top three stories are Phelps/Bolt, Patriots upset and Nadal/Federer.

Hon. mention to the Celtics.

I'd forgotten about Nadal/Federer at Wimbledon. It was easily the best match I have ever seen in my lifetime.

So now, for me, it's between Tiger and that.

I would say it would be between the Olympics and the Super Bowl.

I am a golf fan and the Tiger Woods story doesn't really seem that big at all to me. If it were any other golfer it would get nearly as overhyped as it has because it was Tiger.

The Olympics have lost a lot of their popularity but I think they still get the edge because of the fact what Phelps did was amazing and Bolt was pretty good as well.

So many to pick from in 2008...I have to go with Wimbledon, but Phelps and Tiger coming in a close second. Pretty spectacular feats!

First of all I don't think the US Open is the most difficult to win. I think that honour goes to either the British Open or The Masters.

The Open, because it is usually terrible conditions, the Masters because it is more prestigious and seems to bring out the best in golfers.

Second saying Tiger did it on one leg is kind of bull. Pretty sure guys in every other major sport (cept maybe baseball because its for wusses) has Championships won by key players with WAY more severe injuries than Tigers.

To me the fact that it made the top ten at all isn't right. Only reason it is on that list at all is because it was Tiger. Any other golfer accomplishes that feat and nobody would even care.

Don't get me wrong I cheer for Tiger every weekend he plays because I love to see him dominate but in a wussy sport like golf a guy getting a blister is enough to end most guys weekends so playing with a bum knee is like goaltending your team to the SCF with two broken legs and a concussion.
