With Schoeneweis signed, the Blue Jays continued to work on a deal that would send hard-throwing prospect Adam Peterson to the Arizona Diamondbacks for infielder Shea Hillenbrand.
Adam Katz, Hillenbrand's agent, said Tuesday nothing was imminent although one of the two main obstacles to the deal, Arizona's acquisition of Shawn Green from Los Angeles, was taken care of. The other shoe to drop is believed to be the signing of free agent starter Shawn Estes.

Schoeneweis...meh. Could be worse I guess.
Hillenbrand would be a good move, can never have enough bats now that Delgado is gone.

Schoeneweis is a decent guy that will not wow anyone but provide the Jays with a reliable guy out of the pen which is really better than what they had last year.
I hope the Jays can work out the deal for Hillebrand he would be a good addition to what looks to be a possibly weak offense.

The score is reporting it's very close to being done. I gotta say I'd rather have Koskie and Hillenbrand over Delgado any day.

Hillenbrand would be what or DH/1st with maybe a little bit of 3rd? Sounds good to me.

That leaves the question, where does Frank Catalanatto fit into all of this? Right now he is the 4th OF behind Johnson, Rios, and Wells. But the Cat can bat...I assumed he was going to be the DH. Unless JP is trying to deal away Johnson or Hinske, preferably Hinske.

Do you think Schoeneweis comes out of the pen, or starts...? Also, what do you think about the $$ that they paid for him...?

He will probably start in the pen, if thats the case he was overpaid, but if he makes his way to the starting rotation(and he does have starting potential) and stays in the rotation hes worth the dough

I would think Hinske to be all but gone now, with the addition of Shea Hillenbrand. I think Catalanotto still has a pretty big upside like you said, despite his injury problems.

I totally forgot about the Cat. I don't think the Jays will trade him as he seems to be good value for what he costs, though a little more pop would be good. Hinske looks to be the odd man out.
