I don't really follow NFL too closely, but I do really enjoy the playoffs. That said, can someone fill me in on Randy Moss?

What were all the signs about "leave now moss" about?

What was this about swearing in the post game interview?

I saw him yelling at the fans and pointing at the scoreboard, and ofcourse the mooning

Whatta tool... It reminded me of how the idiot NHL players are so much better than the idiot NFL/NBA players.

a) Last week he left the field with 2 seconds to go instead of with the rest of the team. During the week, he questioned his coach (who is/was on the rocks most of the season anyways, as to if he was the right guy to lead them)

b)He finished his interview with It doesn't matter, because we kicked their a$$" He also took a shot at the media in the same intewview, for blowing things out of proportion about his comments about the coach

c)He said about the moon thing that it was just another clebration and didn't mean to offend anyone.

As is dicussed in another thread, I could care less about the guy, but the words and language used by the media to describe the moon thing was over the top. It was no worse then some other ones I've seen, and, like Ownes, to grab attention to themselves. Is he a brat, sure, but not pure eveil like some are making him out to be.

There are chop blocks and blows to the head in football games that are 10X worse as far as actions on the field go, but some on the FOx Crew made it sound like he killed a man on the field and danced around his lifeless body, both after the moon job and after the interview. (Remember, this is the same Fox who had to cotemplate showing 150yr old Mickey Rooney's bare ass on a SUperbowl Commerical...and, only because of what happened with Janet Jackson last year, did they decide not to show it).

I do think they have it out for him a bit because, being such a good player, he isn't the most co-operative guy for granting interviews or being buddy buddy with the media like other NFL stars are.

I agree there is alot worse off-feild stuff, but hockey players do look like angels in alot of respects compared to these guys.

Remember Rocky Thompsons antics after he won a fight? I can't think of seeing a single flame doing anything like it since then. If we had NFL players out there the leauge would have to implement a fine for post-fight-celebration dances.

I can't believe they are going to fine him for it. It was harmless.

Harmless? I'll wait until the first lawsuit comes out before I deem it harmless. No doubt at least one person suffered emotional pain and/or embarassment after seeing that behavior. Probably enough claimants for a class action suit from all the other people who ran into doors or stubbed their toes as they clamored to get away from the television.

It was unnecessary and classless. Nothing I wouldn't expect from a jerk like Moss but still he deserves to be fined.

This is an overreaction. If anything, they should have thrown a 15-yard unsportsmanlike for taunting the crowd, and that's it. I have seen MUCH worse by NFL players go unpunished.

But then again, NFL players get fined if they go a couple of plays without pulling up their socks.

So Rocky Thompson was fined for that huh? I sure don't remember it that way.

The problem is next week playing against a good Philadelphia defense he won't get the chance to do something funny. Unless quitting on his team is something you consider funny.

Couldn't believe the reaction this got. Mooning is such a childish and harmless gesture in a Simpsons sort of way, especially when it's a pretend-mooning, with no pants actually being dropped. I think the play-by-play guy completely overreacted, and then everyone just climbed on the bandwagon from there.

I can't beleive the over reaction going into this.
ESPN refused to show a rplay of it, but their new show "Tilt" starts off like so...
In one of our first glimpses of the main character, poker legend Don "the Matador" Everest unbuckles his belt as he strolls into the bathroom of a lavish Las Vegas office suite. There he encounters a busty blonde who begins to kneel in front of him.

When the camera returns to show the Matador, he groans softly, looks down and says: "Bull's-eye."

Ya ok let's not show Moss's action but let's put this out to our fans. And let's play repeated replays of Janet's tit on TV and let's show Jake Plummer flipping the bird to his own fans. Or how about let's show a guy getting chop blocked and tearing up every ligament in his knee several times.
Media loves to hate this guy and it's getting to a ######ED level this week.

They love to hate him because he continaully gives them reasons to.

If he weren't such a jerk they may lay off of him but instead he acts in this immature way and brings everything on himself.

He thrives on the attnetion that's for sure. But this week it has been taken to new levels.
It seems the media is now in love with Peyton Manning, which is to be expected I guess. Just find it funny the way the media drools over certain atheletes and then attacks others.
