When I was in Fairmont, it sounded like there was still some natural hot springs in the area.

Yeah I've heard various stories from people that took place at these mysterious "natural" hot springs. But no one seems to be able to tell me how to find one.

That's because the people who know where they are don't want more people there.
For the OP, I'll tell you (and I suppose the entire CP nation) where one is. Highway 93, just south of Canal Flats is a road called Whiteswan Road. ~20 km up that road.

St. Leon's south of Revolstoke. Can't remember off hand exactly how to get there but directions can be found on the interweb. Not sure if it is still open though as it has been a number of years....

I've stopped in there in the winter before. But you'll definitely want to be in a 4x4.

I found one in Fairmont, at the resort near the pools there is a bridge and at the bottom there is a little pool and it is so nice to sit in there during the snow. I did that one year and it was so awesome.

There is one between Nanaimo and Tofino. (Closest one I can think of)

I would NOT be driving the road to Whiteswan anytime after any significant snow has fallen. The road is decent for the most part but is very steep in portions and I can tell you from personal experience that even with a 4X4 it is a scary ride when she gets some snow and ice on her. There are a couple of sections where if you're vehicle fails to stop you go right over the edge of a cliff.
With that said, Whiteswan is awesome and I think would be exactly what your looking for. There are 4-5 different pools, each on a different level. The highest pools (furthest from the river) are the hottest (very very hot!) and closer the river they get cooler and cooler (youd have a rough time sitting in the real close ones during the winter). They have built nice steps down to the pools which are usually accessible in the winter as well as the summer. Hope that helps a little.

Getting to Lussier Hot Springs (haven't actually tried these directions, mind you - they come from the excellent book - Hot Springs Of Western Canada, by Glenn Woodsworth)
Take Hwy 93/95 to the Whiteswan Lake Provincial Park turn off
Follow gravel road from turnoff (Whiteswan Forest Service Road)
At 18.3 Km a sign marks the entrance to Whiteswan Lake Provincial Park. Immediately after the sign, is a parking area (on right) with a changing room/outhouse. Drive is about 20 minutes from Lussier.
Walk up the road about 100m past the parking are. You can see the spring pools beside the creek below. To reach them, take the covered wooden stairway leading down from the changing room and follow the moderately steep path down to the springs. Its just a couple of minutes walk from the car.
Good luck! You're crazy to try it this weekend though.

My favourite hot springs is Ainsworth Hot Springs, near Nelson, BC. They do have the big pool, but there's also a cave you can walk through/sit in and feel the hot water coming right out of the mountain. Just awesome. There's also a really cold waterfall there if you like the shock of hot to cold or cold to hot.

Whiteswan was the sight of probably one of the most memorible night of my life. Me and 5 guy friends show up there... and there are 5 19 - 21 yr old girls there... drunk. Well at the time we were all 22 - 24... so lets just say that one hell of a party started. By midnight all most of us were wearing were our smiles.
Probably one of the luckiest things that have ever happened to me.
