Hey Ladies and Gents,
I heard from a friend that Fire Fox is the web browser that everyone should be using if you are using Shaw Cable. He said that was what the shaw cable guy told him. I am a little skeptical. Mainly because Explorer is a Microsoft product, and he said that even Microsoft reccomends it.
Does anyone know anything about this, could you help clear this up for me?

Doesn't matter who you get internet from.
Firefox is miles and miles ahead of internet explorer. You will save yourself a lot of frustration if you use firefox.
Listen to your friend! Get firefox! (I use it, and many others on this board too...)

And no big security holes.
Using IE is kind of like poking a big bear with a short stick -- you're gonna be screwed sooner or later, either with virii, spyware, or both...
I use FireFox at home and at work.

Be advised that Firefox is an open source web-browser so whatever holes there are, they are probably known to hackers. Somehow I think that hackers won't try to exploit it that much since it's probably the browser they use :P.. It's available for free at www.mozilla.org. It's a pretty slick browser, I've been using it for just over a year now, it takes a little getting used to, but once you get the hang of all the tricks and shortcuts and get it set up the way you want it, it's awesome.

Hello... my name is Jon... and I have a proble/use Fire Fox
it all started when I was fustrated with the "search bars" on IE, and the popups were driving me insane. I had a popup blocker, infact two, they would stop needed windows from appearing like banking information secuity windows, yet I could still get the popups telling me how to make my penis bigger, or where all the sluts with their butts and big huge guts were. I didn't know what to do, I didn't know how to stop it.
That's when I found... Fire Fox.
again, my name is Jon, and I'm addicted to.... Mozilla Fire Fox

For whatever reason I get very few pop-ups. I hardly ever get them unless they are related to the site I am looking at. eg. Ebay...

I actually use the old Mozilla. When IE when bonkers on me, I got Mozilla and it has never given me a problem...knock on wood. I guess I never upgraded to Firefox because Mozilla gave me no reason to.

It's an OK cold war movie... kinda slow in places. Clint Eastwood as a pilot who steals a Russian Super Jet is a bit of a stretch. (although it really was just a MiG-25) The mind controlled missiles were neat though.

Internet Explorer is just horrible.
My computer basically dies if IE opens for some reason (usually opening email through MSN Messenger, for some reason FF doesn't take over in that spot).
I've used Mozilla 1.5/1.6/FF0.9/1.0 for about a year now. You'd have to pay me large sums of money to go back to IE.

Exactly. IE 6 with SP2 on XP is a great browser now. I tried FireFox, but it reminds me of Netscape which I never liked.
I prefer Opera myself, but go back to IE to view certain sites every other day. That's the problem with all the free source browsers, they don't support everything.
The downside of Opera is that the free edition comes with an advertising banner on the toolbar. I got used to it so I don't even notice it anymore. Otherwise it's a great browser.

Firefox is a great browser. I switched to Mozilla a long time ago and then Firefox a few months ago and I like it. I've tried most of the browsers though. Opera was okay but it just didn't seem quite right to me. I much prefer Firefox to Opera. Firefox is probably the best browser at the moment IMO. But to say it doesn't have any security flaws isn't true. I'm sure there are they just aren't as predominant as IEs seeing as how IE has >90% of the market. That just means there are far more people that can be attacked with IE.

I use fire fox, and think its awsome.
However , some web site don't appear like they do in IE. I think cause Mozilla does not support CSS??? Is this correct?

IE 6 with SP2 is fine if you keep your machine squeaky clean, I run Ad-aware, Spybot, and VirusScan every night before I go to bed, I also wipe my hard drive every week, no problems whatsoever and I never get pop-ups unless I intend to (w/banks & stuff). I find Firefox buggy and their download routine weird...

I have tried to use Fire Fox and am still trying but I find it to be slower and more of a pain in the ass than IE.
I have had no problem using IE with using the same types of programs as Incinerator and prefer it much more than Fire Fox.
