Overtime again. Make it 6 in a row now that we've played OT. Weird.

Thrashers starting to play better as they win their 2nd in a row and 3rd in 4 after a 5-4 win over the Devils. Thrashers stopped playing for 10 minutes or so in the 2nd and let the Devils score 4 times to trail 4-1 heading to the 3rd before the team woke up.
Datsyuk is day to day with an injury and will not play tomorrow vs the Rangers. Khabibulin will be given the day off tomorrow as well to rest up.

Horton seems to have found his place on the 2nd line as the trio combine for 12 points in the game and take all 3 star positions. Briere moves into 1st overall in the points race and the Sharks into sole possession of 1st overall in the league standings. The team is really firing on all cylinders now.
Game Stars
1 - Milan Michalek (SHA) 3G 2A 5Pts +5
2 - Daniel Briere (SHA) 2G 2A 4Pts +5
3 - Nathan Horton (SHA) 1G 2A 3Pts +5
Thomas with an equally impressive outing doesn't manage to get a star but not for a lack of trying.
Goalie Statistics
Martin Gerber (RAN), 7 saves out of 12 shots, L, 9-5-1
Brent Johnson (RAN), 16 saves out of 17 shots
Tim Thomas (SHA), 33 saves out of 34 shots, W, 10-6-2

Isles win their second straight thanks to another first star performance by Miikka Kiprusoff.
Demitra is red hot, scoring once to extend his goal-scoring streak to 2 games and point-scoring streak to 7 games... scoring also for the good guys was Bret Hedican and Darcy Tucker... no rest as the Isles welcome the always tough Penguins tonight.

Leafs and Yotes tie 3-3.
Leafs came back after a long layoff and played pretty average in this one. Almost all aspects of the game were even, but the Leafs did lead 3-1 with 7 minutes left. Josh Harding got the start and played pretty well, but not well enough in the 3rd period.

Sedin's hat trick sinks Flames. Flames are still looking to move some vets.

Ducks win another 1 in the 2nd of a back to back vs. the nuckies. They weren't too happy about it injuring York in the 1st game and Martin in the 2nd game. Additionally Broduer will have to sit a couple games to get rested, hopefully the team can keep up the hot play and work the record above 0.500.

Sabres 4 Sens 2
The Good:
3 bizarre players sweep the star selections for the Sabres: much maligned Dustin Penner, backup G Wade Dubie and LW Milan Lucic getting his first taste of top 3 line action
Game Stars
1 - Dustin Penner (SAB)
2 - Wade Dubielewicz (SAB)
3 - Milan Lucic (SAB)
The Bad:
JS Giguere remains tired despite the offday
The Ugly:
INJURIES. After losing Lupul the day before, Toni Lydman suffers a minor injury and D Tobias Enstrom having an very good season suffers a MAJOR injury , essentially lost for months, and with his 0.5 M salary that provides us almost no cap relief to replace him. luckily we have some breathing room...
Sabres play again today

Predators drop a 4-3 decision to the Avs. We will have to make some changes here as we are just rolling along at .500.

Sedin Sisters come up big with both recording multiple nights. Backup Ty Conklin comes up big again with a timely win whic gave Kari a well deserved night off. Hopefully some momentum can be carried into th enext game against the red hot Avalanche.
