Under Israeli law anyone with one Jewish grandparent can become a citizen (supposed to mirror the laws that the Third Reich used to decide who was/wasn't Jewish), and even then it's tough to prove who is and who isn't Jewish.
A lot of people want to get the %$% out of eastern Europe so even though they aren't Jewish and only have one ancestor who was or maybe even who wasn't they go to Israel.
Then when things don't go as well for them as they'd like they find a scapegoat....All I have to say is good luck to these boys in sentencing.
