Well, since there are so many photo buffs here I thought we could have some sort of a 'photo challenge' thread(s) where a theme is presented, and you go out and use some creative photography pertaining to the theme. I guess I'm just looking to use my camera more and more and always try different things. It would be great to discuss photo techniques etc with each other and give "how to" tips or what not. I've seen a lot of the themes around the net, but never really wanted to participate because I was never really part of the site... so, why not here?
All types of cameras, don't need a fancy one to participate or be a pro. Just do it. Go have fun.
Photobucket is good for uploading pics to.
I don't think there should be any rules (ie: photoshopping or not) as it's just for fun but maybe restrict image sizes to 800x600?
I was playing around with dropping water into a bowl the other day, and thought it would make a neat first idea: water.
Here's mine. (The border was obviously added later)
For this, I filled up a nacho bowl full of water and put my camera on the tripod just off angle and above. I filled a milk jug with a little water and put the cap loosely on. I used a nikon D80 with a SB-600 speedlight flash. I held the jug at just the right angle so only a drop or two at a time came out and tried to time the drops (unfortunately, holding the shutter button down didn't work too well due to the flash trying to recharge). Either way, I took quite a few, and this one turned out alright.
Feel free to post other ideas for CP Photo Challenge #2
Cheers.
