Five major trades in a less than an hour is the new alltime record. The previous record of four was also held by JohnnyFlame. This along with at least one trade for 10 days in a row are two records which will take some doing to beat.
Capitals were sick of watching underperformers taking a paycheque and giving out no effort. Game after game of no shots on goal five on five along with sad goaltending. A decision was reached to acquire some of the outstanding Canadian youth so recently on display and added to the Caps were Mike Richards and Jeff Carter. Also Nathan Horton who has had an awesome year in the CPHL was added to the fold. Also the Caps added some grit and hopefully some dmen who can actually play some defense.
It's going to be a new look team with a new more youthful mix. Jeff Taffe will also be moved into the lineup along with Pitkanen. Dunham will handle the majority of goaltending but Fluery is going to get a lot more action.
We might be just as easy to beat as we have been so far this season but at least we will have set the stage for the future to be brighter!!!!!
