How Many Trick-or-Treaters Did You Get?
With the stopping time here being 7:00pm AST I thought I'd give you my grand total and ask how many kids you got this Halloween?
After much preparation, knowing the number would be low, I bought 24 full size chocolate bars, and had ZERO kids. Fun stuff, lots of chocolate for me

Usually I don't do the count till around 9, though after 8 it's very sparse.
But yeah trick or treating has REALLY gone down in the last 5 years. HEck a drop in the last 10, but big time in the last 5.
I wonder if it's parents worried about safety or what.
Kinda silly if that's the case.

for me I live just off a major sub-division so right there the neighbourhood kids go 5 minutes up the street where there's a ton more houses. They're more sparse where I'm at.
In addition to that the demographics of the area are older. Not many little kids around like when I was a wee lad. Ergo not as many trick-or-treaters. My parents the next street over got 6.

During dinner with clients last week in the US, I was told about "Trunk or Treating". Basically, their church uses the parking lot and people dress up their cars with themes and hand candy out of their cars.

Last year, I had round 20.
This year I have no idea how many will be by.

Well I know trick or treating has gone down in my area for sure but that's because my area has all grown up. Most of the people I grew up with still all live in the same places, so not very many trick or treaters.

I remember helping handing out candy 15-20 years ago. You'd get over 100 easy.

I hear Trick or Treating at malls is becoming more and more popular. It makes sense I suppose, since kids won't have to wear jackets on top of their costumes, its well lit, and parents can actually do shopping too. Maybe that's where all the kids are going these days.

the geniuses at Market Mall decided to ignore the masses of kids already there today and didn't hand out candy until after 2:00pm. A lot of parents arrived around 10:30am. Nice job.

Last year our trick or treat number went through the roof. I think part of that may be that they caught me unawares and drunk and I was handing out full beers.
So if they come back thinking thats what they're getting, I've got nothing but celery and rice cakes this year...ahahahahahaha!!

17 sirens so far. Hopefully not for the kids.
Ahhh... living in a neighborhood full of criminals and - burning buildings, I guess.

Kids can't even leave their front porch by themselves these days.
Halloween is dangerous ya know!

I'd look to tell you but bulletproof glass isn't as transparent as one might think.
Haha, no, my 'hood ain't that hard - in fact, the building I live in is on the edge of a very nice upscale area. I don't have to worry about the trick-or-treaters, though, because there is no real way for them to get to my door - and the buzzer doesn't work! Not really sure, to be honest, what is with the outbreak of emergency vehicles.

Last year, I had about five kids.
This year, in a new place, I've already had about 35 or so. I'm glad I ended up buying a lot of candy. I almost didn't, but I had a feeling this new place would get more kiddies.
Maybe I think it's the pumpkins I put out. They turned out really well.
Haven't had any teens yet though.
