Well, in his first game back from injury Theo obviously wasn't up to it (he was still 99CD).
Jose Theodore (BRU), 3 saves out of 8 shots, L, 4-3-0

Amazing game from Zubrus and Biron! Zubrus with a hat trick. A couple of day-to-day injuries though.

Steve McCarthy is becoming a defensive Metropolit. He is starting to thrive with more than just pp minutes. Another 2 points tonight! Turco again the big difference in this one with just 2 getting by him. For the 1st time since game one everyone is healthy again. (knock on wood)

Double whammy - lost the game and Vokoun to an injury. Freddie Norenna is going to have to step up here.

Sharks can't find the right mix to beat the red hot Canucks as Biron stands on his head for the win. Outshot the 'Nucks 42-25 including 20-6 in the 3rd but they got the only 2 goals of the period and finished it off.
Michalek's run comes to an end but defensive player of the week Paul Ranger continues to put the biscuit in the basket. That and Hossa finally may have found some chemistry is about all that was good about this game.

Same story yet again for the gazillionth time. Outplay a team we should beat but come up on the losing end of the score. Outshot the Isles 25-19 but lose 3-0. Ugly start to the season and if this doesn't change in 5-10 games, it will officially be a firesale.

Leafs beat Wild 4-2.
Well we ended up with 3 points out of 2 games with the Pens and Wild which is pretty good.
We outshot the Wild by a good margin tonight and won by 2. Although I'm surprised it wasn't closer as Boyle got ejected at the end of the first period, and we lost 2 other defenseman with 5 minutes left. But the remaining 3 held on, and Lundqvist played well. Zubov lead the charge with 3 points.

Kolzig let us down big time and Giggy stole the show for the Sabres as we outshot them 41-22 and lost 4-2. Spezza played well again with a goal and an assist....Where is Sidney Crosby??

Well the Ducks win a tight one 4-3 as Ovechkin gets the GWG for the Duckies.
This seemed like a rough game as Rucinsky get ejected from the game and 2 lightning guys got injured. We were outshot, it wasn't pretty but got the W in the end.

While the major moves paid off (Nash with a goal and a helper, Thornton with an assist), it's the moves I haven't made that are paying off. Before the season, Craig Rivet was in talks to switch cities. Last night, the Riv had 3 helpers.
Then there's the moster Steven Weiss, written off in the Iginla trade as a player that is love him or leave him. His hat trick last night has him sitting at 7 goals, almost matching Iginla's point totals to date (3-5-8). I'm not suggesting that Weiss is on the same level as Iginla, but just showing that any player can step up in the CPHL, right WDF Metro?
For the first time this season, GM Prototype is happy with his teams performance, and he just may unplug his trade phone.

The Habs are missing a couple of their big guns up front and it's showing. We were outshot 37-20 and while Erat potted a couple, it was not enough to avoid defeat.
Koivu is going to be out another 3 weeks, Malkin is still only a 90 and Filppula is back to a 99 CD but we'd like to see him completely healthy before we play him.

Flames drop a close game to the Hawks last night. Primeau and Mowers continue to lead the Flames attack with 20 points between the 2 of them. Bert is close to coming back and I may have to move one of Murray or Vaananen in order to have the cap space for Bert.

Not the best of performances. Superstar Weiss run wild on the team and scores a hat trick. On the upside no injuries this game and also a couple of days off to regroup and rest up. Also on the positive side, JoPa gets his first goal as a King and Hunter comes back off the IR. Unfortunately Patrick O'Sullivan's quest for CPHL glory has now ended.

Capitals 4 - Rangers 1
Well the schedule has been plain old NASTY as of late. Rangers just finished off 7 games in 8 nights segment. Of which the Rangers had quite a few injured players going into yesterday's game....
Rangers had no choice but to play their Backup as Mr Gerber is tired....
Now the schedule has the Rangers sitting on the sidelines for 7 days until we get into another 5 games in 6 nights segment... oh well... better find some depth players...
