Nintendo NES & My LCD TV
I am curious if it is bad for my Sony Bravia LCD if I hook up an original NES system to it. I have a few younger brothers who have no idea how lucky they are so I want to hook up my NES and play some Blades of Steel next time they are over.
Has anyone else tried to do this before? Have you had or heard any bad experiences with it?
I have done a quick google search on the subject but can only find information on how to hook it up, not if its bad for your TV or not.

No and no.
But I can't think of a reason it wouldn't be fine. As long as you've got the correct inputs on your TV (RCA connectors), it should connect up real easy and work just fine.
Have fun watching your brothers' expressions of awe!

I was thinking more of burning the image into the screen, etc

AFAIK, it's Plasmas that suffer that fate not LCD.

I think the biggest danger is finding that the video game industry has spent billions of dollars on technology advancements but haven't made games any more fun**
EA NHL 94 FTW!
**Have yet to try the Wii

Yeah, you'll be fine. The CRT TVs we used to play Nintendo with were much more likely to suffer screen burn.
About the only thing you might have an issue with is playing any of the light gun games, presuming you have any. I believe that LCDs sometimes struggle wtih those, especially towards the edges of the screen.

Funny thing. I recently read online how to fix my old Nintendo, which suffered the same fate as a lot of other NES consoles in that it stops working after a few years. It turns out dust has nothing to do with it. Its just the connectors not touching the game enough. So I took the NES apart and pried all the little connectors out a little with a little screwdriver, and voila! Instant NES goodness!

Meh my NES is connected to my TV right now. It works great. The only down side is that the light gun doesn't work so I can't play Duck Hunt or Hogan's Alley

I thought that I was so smart by buying a Super Scope 6 with a couple of games for my Super Nintendo.
....Unfortunately; the scope does not work on my rear projection TV. (Sony XBR2)

I loved the Super Scope 6, if only for the irony of it. The most family friendly video game maker out there releases a fricken bazooka as an attachment... wdf?
