I picked him up via a trade with the Blues so I am able to send him to the ahl team.

So a players "claimed" status changes after a trade? Wasn't this loophole changed after year 1?

I thought we decided at the end of last season, that teams could claim a player off waivers, and than waive him again later in the season. The train of thought was that teams needs can change throughout the season due to injuries, and waivers was the easiest way for a lower standing team to aquire a player to fill a need. I also think that even last year once a guy was traded to another team than that team could waive him, but the team that initially claimed the player could not reclaim him via waivers or re-aquire that player in a trade.

We removed the claimed status after a trade on purpose last year.
