Just a question, if you are travelling to Australia, and you have a Canadian passport, do you need a visa to travel to Australia?

Yes, you do. You need a tourist visa to be there, and I can't remember if you need to get one beforehand or if you can get one when you show up. I think it has to be beforehand, if memory serves me correctly from my trip.

I was in Australia several years ago and that's what I used.

It's easy... you can get one at the airport. I even got one on the plane once.
