Just wanted to let some of you Flames Fans know about a site that opened up about a month ago called InTheSlot.

Some of you might remember a place called Cyber-NHL...well, it closed down, and now InTheSlot formed to takes it's place a little.

It's a great site for fans of all kinds of hockey, whether it be the NHL, minor leagues, street hockey, or even video game hockey (we do offer the latest downloads and add-ons for EA Sports's games)

Come check us out and register on our forums.

Look forward to seeing some of you around.

I was about to complain about spam, which this probably is, but I really miss cyberhnl so any relacement is definitely welcome.

It can stay because I know some around here were talking about what happened to Cyber not too long ago. But it would have been better to ASK first before posting your ad for your site.

Sorry about that. Being a webmaster/administrator myself, I know how crappy spam can be. I just wasn't sure if anyone here was a member of Cyber-NHL, so I wanted to welcome everyone to it's new replacement.

Consider this my introduction topic.

You might want to rethink the name of your sim-league.

There is already a REAL United Hockey League.

UHL

We know....but it's hard to be original nowadays.

The reason and logic behind the name though makes sense if you know a little about ITS (InTheSlot). We formed this sim league with another hockey gaming community website, NHL Depot, and since the 2 sites of ours are essentially "uniting" together to form the league, we thought that name was pretty fitting, despite the fact that a real UHL league already exists.

Well considering ITS is a non-profit website and so is our sim-league, we can't be sued. In fact, I'd invite them to try and sue me.

Profit or Non-profit doesn't matter. You can still be sued.

Nope. I know my law, and as long as I'm not making money off of the name, I'm free to use it. Anyone is. It's *almost* like freedom of speech, just a different form.

are you receiving any sort of money in your endeavours to pay for server costs etc? you're making money that way (while using the name), even though you aren't making a profit/pursuing a profit. I'm pretty sure a lawsuit can go ahead that way. Sorry to pile on.

Actually, no I am not. My server is the guy who runs NHL Depot (he also owns WebSpaceDepot.net which is where he gives me webspace from).

The beauty of my site is the fact that I haven't spent a dime to get it to where it is today. I don't even welcome donations, because I don't believe my members should have to contribute to my site from a financial standpoint. Anyone seeking to start a community, or even a business in "real life" needs to be able to support it on there own. Fortunately for me, I found someone generous enough to give us some starting ground.

Believe me, I wouldn't operate a site if I was opening myself up to get slapped with a lawsuit.

Just bumping this topic a bit in case there are still some people here who haven't heard the news. (Sorry if bumping is "illegal" here, I am not sure...)

Of course not. Shameless being the key word there. :P

Honestly, the only reason I care to do this here this much is because I actually know for a good fact that there were people here who visited Cyber-NHL that do not know abut ITS... Like cheung31 for example. And I just really don't wanna leave anyone else out in the cold.
